Very nice solid looking guardians.
Did you build up the bone colors per normal? (browns > bone > white)
I'm thinking that my Eldar will be Ulthwe when I finally get to them. It's a nice quick scheme thanks to the black armor...With plenty of chance for great freehand details.
Can't wait to see you press this force into service over such a short period of time ^_^!

Nice and clean with the paint there. And the snow is going to be a very nice contrast.

Thanks, the bone is even quicker,
Bleached bone > sepia wash > bleached bone.
Im doing them in threes, i got 3 more done last night and stuck the wraith lord together (which took a lot longer than i thought it would!)
The grey high lighting is the bit that takes the time!
Im going for a good table top finish on them and im excited to see them all finished

They are sprayed black, the highlight is codex grey then washed with a black was to take the edge off the high light.

Lo.
i do the winter bases for all of my models and to me the simple and effective way to do it is:
before painted: put modeling sand and other decorations on and spray black,
painting: drybrush sand codex gray
flocking: put PVA glue in 1-2 places on the base and "dip" the base in the games workshop snow
hope this goes well

Ok , update time!
Ive finished the Guardian squad and have stuck the Storm squad together. Ive decided to up the army size to 1500pts but i don't think i will get all that done by May - but you never know
Anyway here are the current pics. C&C welcome but please remember this is a table top standard army and the bases will all be done when the core troops are painted

I like the scheme, simple, crisp, effective and strong.
Kudos.

I don't want to be human! I want to see gamma rays! I want to hear X-rays! And I want to - I want to smell dark matter! Do you see the absurdity of what I am? I can't even express these things properly because I have to conceptualize complex ideas in this stupid limiting spoken language! But I know I want to reach out with something other than these prehensile paws! And feel the wind of a supernova flowing over me! And I can know much more! I can experience so much more. But I'm trapped in this absurd body! |

first up i dont know anything about eldar models but i do know that you have a very nice simple paint scheme that works well, and will look even better with snow bases.
Also i think the trick to a good eldar army is the pose of the models. unlike orks and SM etc etc they have to be war like AND gracefull. poised to strike and i think you have acheived that very very well here.
great work and i look forward to seeing more
thanks

No they will be tradition colours.
However as i only have Dark Reapers and Banshees these are in black and bone colours anyway so they will blend with the army. The main colour will come from a troop of harlequins!
Thanks for the interest

Ok small update time!
All my 750pts is not assembled and undercoated.
I played my first test game last night against marines.
Im pleased to say they won and well! By turn 3 it was all over. Admittedly he his drive his razorback towards by banshees and get out so next turn I charged them and wiped them all out!! In honor of this the helmet on the base will be painted in his colour scheme
Anyway here is a pic of the next finished squad.
