Well hes a whopping 8 years old. My brother and I bought him some necrons because he thought they were cool. AND how awesome it was that they can "come back to life"
Anywho so today I taught him how to dry brush and do basic detail. I dont have pics right now but tomorrow Ill post them. I have to say I was impressed that he could put them together rather well (Although some of the poses are a little weird to me but hey hes 8 lol) BUT he took to painting like a duck to water. Super impressed. I just couldnt wait to post about it lol.

ONLY Drybrushing? O.o
Good technique to start off with, and for 8 years old he's got promise.

Good luck to him.

I think they're pretty darned good for an 8 year old! Who cares if it's "only drybrushing"? They look better (and neater) than some of the stuff I've seen done by people 2, 3 and 4 times his age!

Welcome to the hobby, our new young friend.

fething Idiot ! Even drybrushing can look like gak if it's overdone !

Good result for his age, shows loads of promise. Keep inspiring him and warn him to ignore morons who detract from his work just coz they may have had more practice.

Excellent start

For an 8 year old hitting those green 'eyes' on the scarabs acurrately is excellent.
Far better than me at that age.
Must have high medichlorian levels or a good sensai or summat.

Pretty good for an 8 year old. Reminds me of my first models, he can paint just as well as I did when I was 14 XD

Those where some of the coolest models i have ever seen! Why would you say "its only dryprushing"? It dosent matter how hi did it! When I started, my painting looked terrible. And I dont even KNOW how to dryprush! You have some real skill there, keep it up!

Seriously? Thats all you had to say? While it might "only be drybushing" it is damn good for his first models. The paint it not thick, the colors are solid, and he has a pretty good paint scheme means that he has a place in this hobby and I can't wait to see what he does after a few years of practice.

Only one comment on the models though, yes I know he is 8 but scarabs facing every which way confuses me . Also KingCracker you may want to hint that you can get more scarabs if you only use 3 per base. Other then that I like it all, keep up the good work kid!

Im sure he can if he is interested.

Young children are extremely talented , aslong as they have interest in what they do,
you'll be surprised at the lvl of stuff they can accomplish.

That's truly great work.

As Luna said children are very talented and this is a perfect time to teach him the basics, get him interested now and his abilities will continue to improve for his whole life. This is how Golden Demon winners start out.
