I prefer using a commissar model from another French company for that part, she's such a great sculpt that even FFG used the model as inspiration for their female commissar art.

On topic, I'm curious when Andy Hoare is going to write a nice fluff piece for the Arcadian guard for the site. Love the other ones.

My solution for the original with that insanely wide stance was a 40mm base, there was no way she could stand right on the 25mm base without making her legs look broken!

My Olga I gave the pistol, no cigarette holder.

The sisters really are a pain to stick onto regular 28mm bases, it shows a lack of planning and forethought on part of the creators. Mine I've bent ever so slightly so that she fits onto the utmost edges of the base.

Also, I prefer to swap their pistols where possible, or at least remove those stupid flamer nozzles on a drum-fed gun. With Olga I went with the cigarette because it gave her a look of aloofness, disdain and certainly a sense of not belonging with the rest of the (future) regiment.

I understand. the things each does to make the minis work or so, I used the down swung sword right arm on the one as I wrote a tale of dancing a dance of destruction raising and lower her pistol, the double barrel is wrapped not in a flamer tip per se, but stamped air cool shroud for the barrels, kinda old soviet weapon style.

The young sister just has that air of enjoying herself shooting folks too much

Oldest sister olga, has the gun in her arm crooked like she could care less if she has to shoot or not.the monocle also ads to her air of "superiority"

But the 40mm bases also mean if they get "stuck in", they can tackle a nice amount of opponents. still have to finish then, so much detail to work with on them, just got some small tip brushes for such work.

I am always checking for the backjground fluff for the Arcadians, sure would be nice to be able to collect and induct them into the Union as well.!

Fair enough, I know he does stuff on a semi-frequent basis for FFG's 40 RPG's now, which is always good news in my books.

Well, to be fair, breaking a knee cap is far more debilitating than breaking a rib. I wouldn't want to take a bullet in either location, but if I am going to get smacked with anything short of high speed metal and only had enough to armor one or the other, I'd pick my knees.

Besides, I would want to show off the results of my rigorous corset training!

Great work Vic (and Jake). Superb looking weapon carriages. Love the mortar and auto cannon especially.

I think he meant in comparison to the current plastics.

Sure they may be more expensive then hard plastic (for now, give it a couple more years of price raises), but they also look way better and realistic.

Plus higher price means people will shy away from them, making them more unique on the table. (unless people are willing to pay, which obviously they are)

Even on Dakka you can't get away from the trolls.

Resin does cost a bit more than plastic, because resin itself is more than plastic (but the moulds are far cheaper), and it's a PITA to work with/get to pour decently.

Besides, each HWT costs $22 down here from GW ($28 for the "special" ones), so not too bad.

You mean ESPECIALLY on Dakka. That being said, while these are a bit pricey, they look really nice and wholly fit the aesthetic of the troopers. I've really enjoyed watching this range get fleshed out.
