I'm sticking this here since it's a work in progress and I'm up for suggestions. The concept is simple enough: Imperial Navy Infantry supported by armor. Currently that means a squad of guy in Navy Working Uniforms & flak vests lead by a heroic Chief (the guy in khaki) wielding a chain-cutlass (since I couldn't make a cuffee mug that small). The Hellhound is a dazzle paint scheme (seen on ships WWI & WWII) with 'Imperial Navy' and 'Robert Johnson' on the side looking like an afterthought. (Robert sang "Hellhounds on my Trail") Didn't care for how it came out, not as clean as I'd liked so I'm thinking of just doing the other Hellhounds straight up Regal Blue like the Leman Russ Oddball is driving. In the BG is a comm relay station created from an Earthshaker emplacement, a pillbox, and a quickly built Comedian (from Watchmen).

The group from a few more angles, it's been a pain trying to get the camera to shoot them right.

These are looking pretty good actually, would be nice to get close ups of one or two of them to see the camo better.

Also, please please base them, the bright white on their bases is blinding me!

The bit stuck on the side of England. Wales isn't it.

Imperial navy troops , wouldn't that makr them, hem...space marines? Nice idea and an unexplored area, just wish they didn't look so much like cadians.

So I'm guessing that you either are or were a squid... based on your "coffee mug" comment

What's your rate?

Pretty nice color scheme. Keep it up.

I'm a Navy MC, legacy DM. In English: Mass Communications Specialist (public affairs) and before the merger of journalist, draftsmen, photographers & lithographers I was an illustrator-draftsman.

The bases I made Space Wolves grey because I wasn't sure what terrain to have them fighting on. About 3 or 4 years ago the Navy pitched the idea of having "Naval Infantry" to help out the Army. (To which I said, "Isn't Naval Infantry another word for "Marine Corps"?). Then when our faux- Marine uniforms came out it seemed like a natural idea for me to revive the 'Naval Infantry' and put them in action. Plus I really wanted to paint the uniform scheme.

I'll try to get a close up on them when I get a chance so the scheme is easier to see. Also note on the left shoulder of many models are petty officer ranks. (Anything below a petty officer is a 'non-rate' and therefore gets nothing). I went with the Cadians (and no add ons, packs, etc) to give them a generic, sort of basic security force look. These are more than likely guys who guard high-value starports and the like so they don't need field equipment. I've done a mortarman and a grenadier for them but I'm not sure which heavy weapons they should specialize in. Possibly flamers to compliment the hellhound tanks and because of the Naval connection with fire. (Fire on a boat is deadly)

Ah, so your chiefs and commissioned officers are the ones with the khakis and peaked caps. Nice! I remember when they merged Torpedomen and non-nuclear Machinist Mates in the same way. I was a Nuke MM.
