Okay then, this one is a bit different. To start from the beginning, my girlfriend loves the robot Wall-E. I too think he´s adorable, and when I found a set of IG binoculars that looked like his head, she begged me to do a scratchbuild of him.

So, I tried it some months ago, but had actually given up cause the thing was just too darn small. About two weeks ago, I started thinking about it again. And I started tinkering with tiny plasticard bits, some pieces of brass rod, and an 8x8mm plasticard square tube. This is the result of many hours of toil, and about the only thing standard on him, are the binoculars for the head.

He´s about 12-13mm tall, has arms that are about 10mm long, and his tracks are 1,5mm wide. At this point I´m on to the painting of him, and he´ll be getting a scenic base (40mm, he´ll get lost on anything bigger), with a ruined cityscape and a plant of course.

Oh, and my girlfriend is very happy!

Will post further updates when painting is complete.

Looks fantastic.

I second the vote in making it an objective marker so others get to see it.

Wow, thanks for the many comments guys. For some reason I didn´t expect this to be a hit, so I´m glad you like it.

As for the walkthrough.... Well...

The main body is a short piece of 8x8 square plastic tube as mentioned.
The arms are 1mm wide H-beams, with plasticard sides and pieces of 1mm H-beams for fingers.
I used 0.5mm copper wire for the connecting bits of his hands.
And 1mm tubing, cut to about 1,5mm length, for the shoulder joints.
The tracks are made from grey stuff, then cut and shaped for aaaages. (Made three sets that got thrown out because they went wrong).
The neck joint is also from 1mm H-beam plasticard.
The front and back detail are from a random bit of plastic in my bits box, cut to fit inside the 8x8mm tubing.

After that, various bits of detail, and of course the lunch box, which is not in these shots.

So yeah, quite a build for me, I mostly don´t do things that are this fiddly, but maybe I will in the future.

Now, to answer your comments:
@Fafnir: Thanks a lot. Ork warboss? I was thinking Necron Lord?
@Inyokamadoda: Thanks.
@Malfred: That could be a plan She´s actually going to be painting the base for the little guy, so I´m slowly sneaking hobby´ness upon her.
@Fiendcrackar: Iron Warriors greater daemon is a distinct possibility if the Necron thing doesn´t work for him.
@Karmaiko: Yup, he is crazy small. Just hoping I´ll be able to paint him properly at that size.
@Kid_Kyoto: Eve is on the way, not sure if she´ll be for this easter though, I´m running out of time.
@Garret: He´ll probably end up as an ornament actually. But he´s bound to get a lot of admiring stares from passers by I hope.
@Hordicant:Thanks a lot.
@punkisntdeadyet: As per request, the walkthrough is at the beginning of this post. Glad you like it.
@Shas´El Tael: Heheh, I seem to be getting that reaction a lot. As for getting to of my biggest interests combined, yup, that´s how zen I am. <levitates off to build more tiny things>
@Golden eyed scout: Ooh, I have no idea. The actual price of bits is very small, but the time (and madness from losing parts) factor is huge. That´s not to say I´m not interested. If you´re serious, PM me, maybe we can work something out.
@Viney: Dude, a grot wouldn´t fit in there, not even is foot!
@Lord Lankington: Heheh, thanks a lot, and yes, he is a cute little robot.

"Who´s a cue little robot? You are, yes you are...."

Ahemm.
@Ghost in the Darkness: See above for parts list.
@Paul Atreides: Thanks
@Waaagh_Gonads: Thanks a lot. He´ll probably be an objective marker once in a while, but mostly he´ll be a display marker.

Wow, thanks again for all the kind works, getting back to painting him now. Hopefully I´ll have finished pics at some point tomorrow.

O_O Wow, I cannot even begin to imagine how hard it was to work with all those tiny pieces.

... ok, I normally wouldn't do this, but I'm literally on my knees right now, begging you. You must do this. Please, for the sake of awesomeness, fielding Wall-E as a Necron Lord must happen, even if it's only once. You would be my hero for life.

Just imagine the look on your opponent's face, especially if you played it straight and acted like it was perfectly normal XD "Hm? Oh, that's my Lord. The charred umbrella is his warscythe, the cockroach is his Phylactery, the lunch-box is his resurrection orb, and the fire extinguisher makes him count as having a skimmer body. *start putting down dozens of half-inch-tall terrain pieces that are only big enough to give Wall-E a cover save*"

Oh, and in case you couldn't tell, I love the model.

Okay then, update on Wall-E!

He´s acually done now, scenic base and everything. Some parts will still be added, at least Eve and the lunchbox, possibly also a fire extinguisher..

For Wall-E himself, I went with a color scheme very close to the movie, even did the lettering on his front, and the hazard stripes on his arms.

Though some small mistakes may still be in the finished article, I would remind you that he is in fact about 12 by 14mm, so even getting him painted was a challenge. Of course, it was also a lot of fun.

His base is a store bought resin piece, that I felt suited him well. I did mould the shoe, and put a plant in it. My girlfriend actually ended up painting the scenic base herself, she had fun with it, and I think it came out excellent, considering that she has never painted anything of this sort before. I´ve credited her as "Princess".

On the whole, this project has been a great way to try out some very very small scale building, as well as a welcome break from the grimdark of the rest of my current modeling projects.
