Let me start by saying this is pure concept. My hopes are to recreate the look of the "Osprey" and make my guard army's urban police force theme unique.
Below is the Osprey.

This looks modern for 2008. So to make it look more like future tech possibly a change of the turbine look? Like This... a GI Joe Helicopter

Any suggestions for materials for the turbine?

Sketches and the actual model will follow.

Thanks

Not sure about materials for a turbine but here is a great conversion of the toy in the first picture if that is any consolation. It has been converted into an IG super heavy lifter.

I remember when the toy store in my home town was selling those for 80% off. Almost bought one.

Would it be too silly to put the Tau Devilfish turbine engines onto a Valkyrie hull? That would depend on your army fuff, I guess...

I do like the GI Joe turbine look, and it would be a lot sturdier than traditional helicopter blades. Building turbines from scratch would be nasty. Unless you can find a suitable large scale model engine somewhere (perhaps even a flying model plane?), a toy is probably your best bet.

With some modifications, that should work. I am looking to konverting them to ORcs when they come out.

Looks very much like the fighter vehicle in Halo 3...now that's a themed army I"d love to see!

Peace through superior firepower.

Presuming that toy is hard polystyrene (as opposed to flexible polythene which is a pain to glue), I think this would be perfect for a Valkyrie turbine conversion
