Subject: The start of a legion (updated 08/26/09)

A Titan legion that is.
I've been working on this idea for years, picking up bits from time to time. Finally I am at a point where I have both time and money to bring it all together.
The original idea was for a straight up titan legion no infantry no supporting tanks just titans. I realized as nice as it would be having a 15k apocalypse army consisting of a dozen or so models it just wouldn't work out well.
I have decided to stick with a Legio Metallica core force of four warhounds, three reavers and one warlord. To this I have added tech guard consisting of count as storm trooper servitors with transport. With support from a knight world consisting of infantry and knight support.
Three reaver titans - two acquired - painting started on one
Four warhound titans - one acquired - painting started on one
One warlord titan - materials acquired
Metallica tech guard - one stormlord, one chimera acquired - painting started on stormlord
Knight world support - bits for 80 infantry acquired - assembly started
I'll treat this as three seperate armys the titans, tech guard and knight support. the titans and tech guard will have the same paint scheme being from the same world
the knight support will be painted up in the contrasting blue of house krast.

Are you trying to go all Armorcast or will you top up with some FW goodness? I have to agree with Inyoka. Very ambitious. But cool and nuts nontheless. So continue ... fast!

I will not be picking up any Forgeworld titans. there nice and all but i can get four Armorcast warhounds for the price of one Forgeworld reaver if i watch my bids.
I also like the look of the Armorcast stuff over the new stuff. Though i will be rebuilding guns for the reavers to be more in tune with the new reavers.

Way to go, both for the ambition and for the aesthetic choices (all Armorcast and archaic troopers). This is going to rock.
Lanman, are you in B.C. by any chance? If so, perhaps your titan force and our local air wing could have a confrontation sometime soon!

Infinity: Way, way better than 40K and more affordable to boot!

Update house Krast
40 infantry plus 5 man command squad now have heads and temporary bases 4 of which are now completely assembled
Armature, rear vents and part of the legs assembled for the 1st of the Knight titans. I'll use these as Knights in apocalypse but they will also be my count as russes for regular 40k

What models are the bodies of your infantry from? (I guess more specifically, the ones in the last picture)
I like the look a lot.

I used same combination along with zombie parts for my Traitor guard. Those are bretonnian men at arms bodies and the heads are from a company called Pig Iron Productions.
I think your titan legion is fantastic. I can't wait to see the progress! Especially the knights!

The ones with there arms outstretched are the bretonnian archer command. I have bits coming now to do two platoons of 5 squads. 50 in each. it was nice to finaly have a reason to dig the old mole mortars out of my bits box
If I can manage to pull myself away from using GW bits in my knights, i will probably mold and cast them. i plan for a total of nine

Reaver number one is standing on his own two feet, the base is removeable for transport. just his base arm weapons and a shoulder to complete on that fellow.
started fleshing out the body on the Knight with das modeling clay. Still alot to go on this fellow.

Krusha, these would be a loyalist force, though Legio Metallica is best known for dying in the second war for Armageddon. though i think they were rebuilt and fighting in the 3rd war i am not 100% sure i am trying to find my copy of the armageddon codex to see what forces were involved
