Unshakeable Grey Knight Land Raider Pilot

So here is my grey knight army (or at least some of it). This is the second army that I have painted and I feel like this paint job is now good enough to post here and get some good advice. If you guys cant see the pictures well enough then I can take new ones and repost them.
Well what do you think? Any comments would be most appreciated.

its kinda hard to see the pics due to the light, best bet is to take a pic near a window (also under a light aswell if possible)

You have a good power-weapon effect going, but I can't really tell about the rest of the model due to the pic's lighting. Try this:
Get a piece of clean, white paper and lay it down so that it curves up behind the miniatures you want to photograph, as a backdrop. Use something behind the paper to keep it upright.
Get a lamp. Pretty much any desk lamp will do. Set it up so that the bulb is about 45 degrees to the front of the miniatures and shining on them.
Enable the macro button on your camera (usually a pretty flower thingy)
Brace the camera on the table so that you move it as little as possible... and squeeze the shutter button gently.
Voila! Good pic.

Ok... they aren't silver enough AFAIK. It's too dark.
Thinning your paints might also be a good idea.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made. |

Your block-painting is very good, and stays within the lines well. But now, you have to challenge yourself to the next level. Invest in the GW washes, esp. Badab Black (the workhorse of the washes IMO), sepia, baal red (for the cloaks) and maybe a flesh wash for the face of your brother-captain.
That aside, very outstanding work. Just try to get some more prominent highlighting in and your set!
Of course, I haven't been painting for long either, so maybe a more seasoned painter can help here?
Edit: Nice work on the better pics, btw. I feel humbled that somebody actually took my advice!

Washing is pretty simple and doesn't really require a tutorial. Simply choose a wash shade that matches the base color that you're washing (red=red, blue=blue, gray=black, etc.) and liberally apply to the area, making sure to hit all the recessed areas. The wash pools in those crevices and "low points" on the mini and enhances the shadowing effect. Then, apply highlights to the "high points" of the model.
Alternately, you can basecoat, highlight, then wash, but it makes your highlights much more subtle - an effect that is desireable in some cases (like when you've over highlighted). You can also use a diluted wash as a glaze to add a hint of color to provide contrast or color enhancement.
The GW washes have gotten high praise from most Dakkites, but some provide countering arguments - mostly on how the washes they mix themselves are more customizable. I prefer the GW washes, personally, although the red is more pink than I'd like so I use the Flesh Wash most of the time.
If you want to mix your own, get some liquid matte medium (Future Floor Wax works nicely) cut it with water and add your color by the drop. You want them to be anywhere from almost transparent to almost inky, depending on the effect.

Washes (especially Badab Black) really add a lot to a model when used right.
My foe's ka'nigets were painted Mithril, with a Blue wash, giving a silver-blue glow to them - very Knights-in-Shining-Armour effect

Get some washes!!! Other than that, work on highlighting cloth. Blending as its called. It may be hard if you don't have too much experiance, but if you start now you wll be very good soon. It will make the quality of your painting better.

The normal PA squadies are nice, and I like your powersword affect. The purity seals are also nice. One thing I dislike a little bit is your Grandmaster's face. He's a little grubby, the paint is a bit thick. Thin it down with some water next time. Also, as others have said, hit him up with a wash or two. Some Badab Black (or equivalent thereof) will do you nicely. Also, applying it to the metal bits will really make them look nice and aged, which is a good effect. Another tip: don't take pics that are close up. It'll showcase all the infinitesimal mistakes that are invisible to the naked eye. The pic in you avatar looks really good, whereas up close, it starts to show off the tiny little mistakes. Also, he needs him some pupils. Take a tiny brush and put some dots of black paint on his eyes. (Usually, you should do the eyes before the rest of the face, but I always forget and do them last.)

I personally would go for white dots in his eyes.. giving him a sense of power..
The sword effect is cool too, next time I would layer the paint a bit more.
With your silver (it is a common problem i have) you need to use a fair bit more water.. and then bedab black it or .. blue wash it.. then put the same silver over it, leaving the creases.. and then highlight that coat of silver..
I also have a tip for ur cloak on the grand master.. but i dont know if you were going for that dark look.. but i would scab red it, then highlight it with watered down blood red a few times.. each highlighting the next.. then mix a bit of yellow into the blood red making a dark orange and highlighting a final time.
I have many, many more tips.. but i'm really picky.. so i wouldnt listen to me..lol
