Attachd are pictures of a pair of lobbas I made, I have a third on the way.
I'm curious what people think of them honestly. I personally think they aren't orky enough but I'm not sure how to make them more orky.
I used Leman Russ battle cannons as the tube, cut off the flash suppressor, and stuck in a missile from the HK missile bit.
The base is the turret hatch bits fro a Leman Russ kit and the legs are part of the plow bits which go on a tank... Hence why it may not be very orky.
The problem is I have a lot of IG bits but not a lot of Ork bits. Any suggestins for sets/bits which would make htese look better?

They look a little too elegant for orks. Orks stuff should be big, brutal and most of all uncomplicated.

I think it's a pretty good start. Orks will scavenge anything. Throw some random plates (cut out of plasticard), maybe bulk out the legs (even just using sprue castoffs - the sprues are a great source of extra stuff for orks), throw some more gubbinz on them. They're bigger than I would have scratch-built (I see Lobbas as more mortars and smaller than a rocket), but it works.

*Nods yes.* Great kick-off, but indeed too elegant.
I would use a bigger, bulkier tripod, using the 'urty things at the end of them.
And try keeping it lower to the ground. Something like this:
Personally I would either remove the rokit or strap a gretchin to it just for the fun of it.

I used to be an artilleryman on the M198... A gun very similar to the one shown above. I rememebr seeing that gun actually at its unveiling at the AUSA converence in Washington D.C. in 2001. It only weighs some 9,000 pounds which is riddiculously light and significant considering it people had to man that gun.

I think there's a good core idea here, it just needs a bit of development.
I want to see the ends of those legs chopped off and the whole thing put on a base so that it looks like they've been sunk into the ground. They give me the impression that those legs are spikes on hinges (maybe beef up the hinges) and when the orks see the enemy coming they pop out the spikes and bash the things into the ground to make a stable firing platform.
Next, I'd like to see behind the cannon built up a bit. They look a bit like the moment they fire they're going to flip over backwards from the force of the blast. Maybe you could use T beams off of the tank traps sprue, or some barrels or fuel cans.
Last, they look nice, but they're too neatly made. I think you need to rough them up a bit. If they're looted from Imperial equipment, I imagine most orks wouldn't loot neatly. If you ding up the cannon barrels, GS some patch plates, and add rivets, rivets, rivets, it will go more towards looking like something a crazy mekboy cooked up.
Keep at it, it's a cool and very original start!

Most of all uncomplicated? I think that works on some Ork stuff.... But in my mind they just keep adding junk until it works. Uncomplicated might be a bit wrong.
I think to help those out a bit, add a bunch of cables and the like to the underside from the "legs" to the center. Give it that kind of WAY to much power to the bits and bobs. A little work and those will look pretty cool

I'd ditch the tripods and mount them on wheels. Then just slap some armor plates on the gun barrel and add a few rivets.

Nice lobba's, but I think you should make the 'legs' a little bit more crude and Orky
