hello,
is anyone going to convert the Vendetta out of existing bits? or are you waiting for FW to release their version of the Vendetta bits? if anyone has started or already made some, i'd love to see them. i think i'll personally be going the FW route. but after seeing the buoys Lanceradvanced made here: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/45304.page (they're on the 2nd page!), it sure does provide some serious motivation!
thoughts?

I'll convert them from GW Valkyries. There will be a TL Lascannon under each wing and the third one will either be where te multilaser is normally or under the nose (leaning towards under the nose).

Ebay seems to have died down recently guess its the bad economy.
I wonder if they'll lower the fees due to that?

Still waiting for my valkyies to come in the mail but magnets on the wing pylons and land raider twin linked las cannons turned up side down for the wing las cannons swapable with rocket pods and either a Predator or Razorback one under the nose with a magnet to swap to a multi laser sounds good.

Luna has it right on the dread sets. Center one is actually the las that the Valk kit comes with, cut at an angle to set it straight on the nose of the kit.
I know it's supposed to have 3 TLs but i like the single barrel on the nose better and just play it TL hehe.

Seems to me that spare HW team Lascannon (after building HW teams with other guns), are the simplest way to go, make switchable under wing mounts and then put a second barrel on the -other- side of the cockpit, instead of under/over one one side..

Thiiis is whiiiiining! Oooo, this mini is too expeennsive! I'm' going brrookee! Can't you make it cheaper? Oh, it's resin and not metal anymore! Why didn't you take it off the sprue first? That's gonna leave a pour spout, and the FLGS is so far away, WHY DO I HAVE TO SUPPORT IIIIIIIT?! </Rairty> |

Yeah, that was one of the first things I noticed when I picked up my Valk kits - the housings are the same on both sides of the cockpit. Should be easy to magnetize if you want to swap out the weapons. For me, though, I think I'm just going to build one with a lascannon on each side and then use extra SM Predator turret lascannons for the underwing mounts.

I'm going to magnetize my wing pylons so that it can take the missile pods or the hellstrike. You could get an extra Land Raider sprue and make twin linked lascannons from that and attach them to the wings too.

Quick plug for The Warstore. They sent an email out Friday with the following in it:
First stop, Valkyrie/Vendetta Upgrade:
With just a little plastic card, two sets of side sponson, lascannons off the Space Marine Predator and a single lascannon bit from an IG heavy weapons sprue you can CONVERT your Valkyrie into a Vendetta in no time.
All it takes to pull this off is to glue two sponson lascannons together and fit the top with perpendicular pieces of plastic card. The plastic card should fit the weapons joint nicely. If it seems loose try priming the joint and adding a little paint.
We have the parts you need here!
With the "here!" being a link to:

Just figured I'd let you all know. I'll be waiting for the FW kit, personally.

This thread is a bit old but I think what I have to add is relevant:
For the wings use two lascannons from the IG heavy weapons squads, clean off all the rivets and things so they are flat, shave a flat on the lascannon brace (sticks out slightly) and you can glue them together. Make sure you cut the ends off and turn them 180 degrees. Lascannons too expensive for squads and I had plenty so it seemed ok. Cleaned the handles off the battery packs and glued them to each side so they look complete and self-contained (happens to look good too). Had to open up a channel on the back to fit around the strut it attaches to.
I attached to the nose of the vehicle with two lascannons from the sentinels. Hacked out the inner works and glued onto the nose and bottom of the gunship. It just clears. Again, cut off ends and turn 180 degrees and glue back on.
See bottom and front views. I like the results, the side mounted guns seemed odd to me, the nose and wings seemed best and to have it look modular like another kit could be added at a moments notice.
Took me a while to figure out something inexpensive and not a HUGE amount of work.
Let me know if this is helpful and does not "irritate others since this thread is old". I will next figure out a good way for the multilaser to run from the nose so they look consistant.
Thanks all!
