Hey all, Repressor update today. I´ve finished the main construction of the upper hull bit, and the stormbolter turret. There is of course a ton of detailing and GS work to do still, but I´m starting to see where this is going, and so far I like it.

Piccies!
[Thumb - Repressor Left.jpg]
Left Side. Still tonnes of GS work to do

[Thumb - Repressor Right.jpg]
Right Side. Riveting is also coming up of course.

[Thumb - Repressor Rear.jpg]
Rear shot. Looks quite alright with the sloped armour, I think.

Pretty cool; it looks a lot more capable of transporting 10 people now as well. The forward hatch looks a tad big though. Have you considerd an old leman russ hatch? The new tank accessory sprues has alternate hatches, so any IG player near you should have a spare, and they're slightly smaller IIRC. Anyway, congrats on the scratchbuilding, it looks very good!

Wow! I can see that surviving a lot of punishment.

I (if I had that Tank, nicely detailed and filled in with GS) would add some sort of WW1 Tank-esque Shell deflector. But, it's a matter of taste.

That beast looks to be a really fitting transport for the gang.

Huzzah!

Hey all, thanks once again for the comments. I´ll have a picture update some time tomorrow. I´ve done something interesting for the fire points on the hull, looking forward to hear your thoughts on that..

For now, I´ll try to answer your comments/thoughts.

@CommissarKhaine: Yeah, the transport thing always bugged me about the rhinos, and this looks better to me too. I tried with several different hatches, but the main problem seemed to be that it didn´t seem believable that a crewman could fit in there if I made the thing any smaller..

@Jamunition: Thanks, the dozer blade is actually the only thing that´s ready for paint. I´ll have to see if I can match the standard of that on the rest of the tank.

@Smiling Assasin: Thanks a lot. As for the tank deflector, I have been considering what to put on top of it. Deflector thingy is an option, or possibly a huge antenna array, a bit like WW1 british tanks sometimes had, or possibly barbed wire coiled around the upper hull, to further dissuade people from trying to stop the beastie?

@Golden eyed scout: Thanks

@CMDante: Thanks a bunch, I´ll make sure not to disappoint!

Edit: Wasn´t finished writing! Darned <space> key..... :(

Hey Xanthos, phew this thread has gotten long!
I'd like to see the battle report on the last battle. (my report =p )If you need pictures for it, they might be on my computer, in which case you should let me know so I can go scrounge them up.

Pictures of my gang will be coming up this week, hopefully including my juves. (They are in the country but stuck in customs.)
Now don't get your hopes up, it's all WIP, but it should be fun nonetheless.

Rogue Trader Reeta Jaranos and her crew of assorted scoundrels at your service! (For a modest fee of course.)

Hiya folks, leader of the Xenos scum here.
Xan's pestering spree finally convinced me to make an account and post my models!

Here's the gang, still missing the Tau ganger as well as the Squat heavy.

Ch'Pekk, kroot shaper. Armed with a flamer and a poweraxe

Kurtz Boncesmasha, fearsome orc ganger. Armed with a "Chainsword" and a handflamer

Lo'Zog, agile kroot ganger. Armed with a combat shotgun and frag grenades.

Armin Reetho, human juve crazy enough to roll with a gang of xenos. Armed with a handflamer, laspistol and his trusty knife "Slick Betty"

Lo'Mog, kroot juve. Armed with a massive axe (obviously )

This is my first Necromunda gang, though I've had an interest in making one for awhile. One thing that may not be apparent is how big these guys are. Here's a shot of my Kroot ganger next to a regularly sized model.

Huge honking xenos scum!

So, that's my gang so far. I've been pulled away from further conversion at the moment due to having to return to some necromancy and reinforcing my Vampire Count army...can't ever have enough zombies, eh?

Alrighty...hope you enjoy these!

Malika2, these Kroot were mercenaries, sent on the hunt by the Tau as I recall, though of course Protocon is the guy to answer more precisely...

No real update today guys, sadly my day was destroyed by weird plumber guys tearing the water pipes out of the wall at my place.
Exciting stuff no doubt, but not the best motivation for modeling stuff... :S

Ah yes.
The background for my gang was roughly as follows (roughly since I never really wrote it down, I just sortof have it in my head).

The cadre and kin of my Gang leader, the shaper Ch'pekk, was decimated by a unknown virus spread to them by outsiders that had come to their world in search of resources or exploitable technological relics. Enraged at the loss of his kin, he took the few kroot who had avoided the sickness and met with a Tau representative, demanding to be allowed to exact revenge for his kin. The tau, realizing that a renegade kroot shaper running amock in a Imperial system might be construed the wrong way they attempted to persuade him to not go. Refusing to drop the matter, a Shas'ui of drawn from the local Fire warrior regiments was sent with him to act as a observer. Ch'pekk was advised to heed his council on matters dealing directly with the Imperium, or anyone else that the Tau would require favorable diplomatic relations with.
Ch'pekk, now seemingly on a leash, was let to go off on his foolish quest. He scoured the region for the source of the intruders piecing together clues from what little they had gathered from the bodies and paraphernalia of the intruders. They were human, had come on a modified atmo-craft and had been escorted by a bodyguard of cybernetically enhanced humans, later identified as Hive pit slaves.
Eventually, through rigorous investigation, bribery, torture and murder, Ch'pekk's band of Xenos scum has made its way to Sarum, Antimar subsector, Scarus sector.
Here their investigation continues.

As to where some of their gang members are from. They're from here and there. The ork was recruited from a world within Tau space, where mercenaries of a variety of races make their home. The ork had offered information in return for passage to another planet, but one thing led to another (among them him getting shot in the head and needing a bionic replacement) which made him stick with the Kroot cadre. Perhaps in them he found kindred spirits, perhaps he went completely mad when his head got a few extra airholes? The reason is perhaps not so important, but he's a spirited fighter and as long as they don't go too long without a good brawl he's content.
The only human in the gang, Armin Reetho, was recruited near Sarum. He had been serving three consecutive life sentances on a penal colony farm. After acting as an informant to the kroot gang he joined with them now acting as their representative when the need arises to deal with the human populace (before it had fallen to the Shas'ui to deal with the matters while wearing a disguise). The squat heavy had been a mechanic on a large cargo transporter until it had encountered a space hulk and...well...the details are perhaps not the most important. What is important is that by the time Ch'Pekk's gang had fought off the possessed crew of the hulk and then redirected the two ships in a slow spiral into a nearby pulsar, the squat Makaii Snorrisson and the gang had become bonded through shared trials and victories.

So, a questing band of Xenos mercenaries and their allies trying to locate the source of a mysterious sickness.
Sounds like an adventure to me!

Scary to show of my gang, considering the standard of the thread, but here goes. I finally managed to pry the camera out of Pr0t0coN's hands, so it's time to show off my gang!

So to start of with is my recently arrived juve, featuring a club and an old fashioned stub gun:

Second, we have my heavy, sporting his massive autocannon:

Then there is my medic, a ganger with a lasgun:

Lark, a ganger with some mutation happening, sporting a bolt pistol:

Last but not least we have Scott Prailig, carrying a lasgun under one arm, wielding a laspistol in the other and otherwise carrying an impressive amount of looted stuff around. (he's not a chaos worshipper)

So there they are! As I mentioned, they're all WIP, some more than others. Bases and more conversion stuff to follow.

Scene: Skirmish between Clan Scryer and Clan moulder. Scryer player revs up the rattling gun:
*roll* 4, *roll* 1, *roll* 6... pause, consider. Moulder player taunts, *roll* 4! Damn! *roll scatter dice*, *aim directly at scryer warlock engineer,* *hit warlock engineer 15 times.* *Surrender* Ooooh, the beauty of Skaven engineering. =)

I didn't realize that the kilt thing hadn't been done to death. Just felt like the right thing for that particular "character".
I intend to get some painting done as well, but I'm currently in a treacherous war with that thing called school. My battle-plan includes loads of studying, but leaves little time for painting. :(

yeah, Im thinking my big mutie needs a Kilt. as a side note, I like your models quite a bit, but could do with some sharper pics to help the detail stand out.

Protocon, Love the fluff. your warband defanatly fits the 'cool' bill. when I read Xan's battle rep, I was interested in seeing how a varied group of xenos got together, seems to have worked out well. when do we see some painting?
