i want to base my chapter master on a 60mm scenic base and was wondering if this model would be a no go for playing still as i want it to be a gaming miniature, just also want it to look really cool.

Magnetize his foot and two bases. That way, you can display him on the 60mm and, if anyone bitches about it, swap him to the correct sized base. You know... the one you modeled with a bunch of bottles of WHINE... (yes, I know how I spelled it.)

This is a picture of the 60mm scenic bases. i want to use the middle one to base my converted inquisitor corteaz model ( chapter master ) im not to keen on magnetizing so i think i might just use this and hope theres no problems when i come to playing. The other two bases im thinking a terminator librarian and for my chaplain dread when it arrives

I'd say no.

I use 40mm bases all the time for my characters but 60mm is a huge base.

Here is a pic of my WIP masters of the chapter I was working on last year. 40mm suits them fine.

hey did you get those from back to basix i have the same bases for my scouts look sweet, 60mm is pretty big i just wanted it to be like BAM and theres my chapter master, did you finish these minis do post pics

Wow just check your gallery the lord dante mini looks sweet. what did you use for the grass???

I used a product by MiniNatur/Silfour. Basically it is static grass (I have short and long versions) glued in alligned clumps to shets of plastic that you pull off the plastic and stick to the models.

It is my modelling find of the year.

Yes the bases are Back 2 base-ix.

The problem is that if you have a 60mm base on an independent character you would have to abide by the close combat rules which means your opponent could quite happily surround you with a close combat unit and you would HAVE to fight all of them because they were in base contact or within 2" of a model in base contact.

This is fine for Dreadnoughts and such but not a good idea for a troop sized model AND you would have problems moving round the board (ie moving through narrow spaces a regular 25mm would fit but not a 60mm).

Hmmm good points i have decided to go with a nice 40mm base still big but playable i think 60mm is yeah dreadnought and monster size only. anyone want to purchase these 60mm bases sing out and i might be able to accomidate you
