Well after my other blog got side tracked and forgotten for a number of reasons i've decided to start another one purely on one army, Warriors of Chaos.

Since just coming back from uni and now having the time to paint i've decided to start with an army thats relatively straight forward to paint before I move onto my tournament armies for this year (that being High Elves and Chaos Space Marines) hopefully it will get me back into painting quite quickly.

Thanks to Boss Salvage for his massively useful input when I threw up a list a couple of weeks ago i've decided to run with it and see what happens, I like the army list the way it is and all the models will be built to it for reference heres the army list:

H: Exalted - MoK, runesword, shield = 180
H: Exalted - roar, flail, shield, steed = 155
H: Sorcerer - MoT, level 2, skull of katam, homonculus = 210
H: Sorcerer - level 2, 2 dispel scrolls = 170
C: 20 Warriors - MoK, full command, shields = 380
C: 20 Warriors - MoS, full command, shields = 360
C: 20 Marauders - full command, shields, light armor = 140
C: 10 Marauders - musician, great weapons = 56
C: 10 Marauders - musician, great weapons = 56
C: 5 Warhounds = 30
C: 5 Warhounds = 30
S: 5 Knights - standard, musician = 230
Total: 1997

In regards to color schemes all of the Knights, Maraurders, and Non Marked Heroes are going to go with an old style Chaos Undivided Scheme, whilst the mark units will be painted in traditional colors to standout from all the flesh, metal, blacks and browns of the undivided units.

So I thought i'd start with the beautiful new Chaos Knight models and my Khornate Hero (who has now been dubbed Skeletor thanks to particular head i'm using) so without any further rambling heres the WIP pictures of my first Chaos Knight, I hope to get these 6 models finished off this week or next week depending on how my job hunt goes so I can start moving onto the block of 20 Khorne Warriors...C&C as always is very welcome and appreciated, i'm looking forward to peoples comments.

The lighting is making it hard to tell the real color , bleached bone or silver?

It's painted on metal areas, Luna. What do you think?

Nice metalwork to start, but I presume it's going to be dirtied and overpainted in Khorne red eventually?

I just picked up a box of Knights and simply have to get another. My WoC list in the works doesn't feature any warriors though, and I've only got 2 characters at 2250 (Sorcerer Lord and an Exalted Hero).

He's upto the Chainmail stage at the moment Luna.

It start with a heavy Boltgun drybrush, followed by a Badab Wash, then straight chainmail.

WHen i get to paint him next he is going to have another light badab wash, then some more chainmail, then a wash of badab + devlan then some chainmail highlights.

Thanks for the kind words though Arctik, It will be dirited but no Khorne Red these guys are purely Chaos Undecided, I have been using Khorne Knights before I started painting them and I just dont rate them, i'd rather lose an attack and be able to have full control of my unit (panic checks permitting) than have them run riot chasing around an elf budgie or similar annoying bait and flee unit.

Heh heh... sorry, I just read that first character with MoK and assumed it was a Khorne list.

Not a prob mate, I do love my Khorne units though, got to have at least one in every army.

Right done a little bit more work on the Chaos Knight this evening managed to get some tin bitz some brown and another wash layer on him,

plus as a treat I started my Khorne Hero, the infamous Skeletor, I really do love this model (sorry for the crap pic quality on Skeletor)

Well these Chaos knights are proving to be tricky to paint theres just soo much bloody detail on the things, so I have decided that a Knight will be a reward for finishing a unit, now I am to decide which unit to paint next, I might start on my warhounds and get 5 of them painted up to begin with so I will at least have 1 finished unit then I can paint another Knight and start up on some infantry.

Still much more progress with this 1st Knight, hoping to have him done by tomorrow, all the armor is done now, its just a few details like the horns, the horse itself and the metal banding (which will be bronze) that needs finishing, anyone onto some pics. Again sorry for the quality I dont have the space to set up a light box or anything of the sort yet.
