Subject: Steel Legion Meltagunners and Flamer conversions

I've been a long time lurker but finnally decided to register because I need some advice...
I've decided to convert my multiple IG army into a "pure" Steel Legion force and for that I need to convert some meltagunners and flamers.
I'm thinking that the easiest models to use are both the sargeants, the lascannon loader and the heavy bolter gunner (to get a pose similar to the Elysian meltagunner). I'm planning on using the plastic meltagun that comes with the Space Wolves sprue and the flamer that comes with the Catachan sprues. Does anyone have a better idea before I start cutting away? Any guides lurking around that I haven't seen?
Also, I'm planning on making my veterans from the old Arbites models if I can, but here I have absolutelly no idea on how to start converting them into using meltas! Any ideas on how to go about it would be much appreciated.
Thank you very much in advance for any advice you may have.

Ive been wanting to show these off for a bit so here you go. Melta gun, file off lasgun (dremel helps, a lot) insert melta. Leave the but stock of the weapon in place. Ignore paint job as hes a WIP.
Flamer, little more work here. I used the Elysian (spelling) weapon packs for my melta and flamer. Two reasons, plastic command were yet to be released and I didn’t want to be bothered looking for 10 melta guns and I liked the flamers better. That is except for the flamer tanks which are too small. I used the Cadian flamer tank and the resin hose.
Remove lasgun and part of bedroll, just enough of the bedroll to fit tanks on so most of it remains. I added a little GS so the tanks would have more surface area to adhere to.
(begin sarcasm) Now I of course don’t condone recasting but it may make the process go faster. (end sarcasm)

I’m not sure if that’s a complement or a slight sir.

Nice job on your conversions. Seems like a Dremel is the way to go in converting metal figures, so I better get me one of those...

niceguyteddy, it's good to see someone doing something constructive with the Steel Legion minis. They were a wasted opportunity.
