I'm slowly building an all bike army and have heard lots of people say they have had success equipping them with Lightning Claws and Storm Shields. What would be the best way to model this so that the bikers actually look like they could still control the bikes? I know it would be easy to put a Storm Shield on one arm and a Lightning Claw on the other and pretend they steer with their feet, but I think it would look ridiculous. Any ideas? Pics would also be great.

Real problem is when you want to give them special weapon guns, lightning claws, stormshields as well as keep the twin linked bolters on the bike =P!
You could try attaching the shield to the front of the bike?

You can chop either the shield off and move it farther up on the arm, so it looks like he has it around his arm while he steers with his left hand, or you can try and model the lightning claw hand so it's wrapped around the handlebar and the claws just stick over it. Either one is going to involve some decent converting.

I agree. Move the shield up on the arm so it looks like its actually mounted on the arm. Kind of like midevil cavalry did. That way the one arm is free to still hold onto the handlebars and the other can hulk smash everything else.
If you want the cool plasma pistol or what ever else, just glue it on the side of his belt of thigh. As long as its on the mini you can say he has the upgrade.

That's what I did with mine. I also have the meltaguns for the troop squads attached to the front of the bikes, between the bolters. It gives the bikers with special guns a more unique look. I suppose you could pull it off with just about any weapon.

Not exactly related, but please magnetize everything. They make some super small magnets that fit anywhere and are easy to conceal. This will give you more bang for your buck with SM Bikers. I suggest, as has been said, making the Storm Shield look almost like a large buckler attached to the forearm of the handlebar-holding hand. You can fit a micro magnet in the forearm and one on the back of the shield, in case you want to toss the shield to save points, etc. Also, magnetize the LC Arm shoulder, so you can swap it for a PFist, PWeapon, or Thunder Hammer, etc. Or even a Meltagun arm, if you didn't get the solid metal Melta/Plasma holding bodies.

Thanks for all the ideas. I love the shield on the forearm idea. @ em_en_oh_pee - I always magnetize as many parts as I can. I just love those rare earth magnets!

Well, you can't technically fire both weapons nor can a single biker have two riders, although I bet it looked pretty nifty.
