Hello all...I thought I'd start working on some green-skins. I'll post progress as it happens.

I've started the AoBR WarBoss...minor conversion...the yellow cloth will be a beach towel, and the pants will have flowers. The metals are partially shaded as of now.

Granesh, I am sure what you wanted to say was (If you feel like me about seing that):

"THOSE are table-top??!? I am going to proceed to walk alone into the desert, out of shame for ever putting a miniature on a table and calling them acceptable"

Now where is my waterbottle and camel?

These are table top HA someone is REALLY modest. I think someone stepped in the bull gak.
Seriously so far that is a VERY nicely painted warboss. I like your quarky idea for this lol.

Also I agree with Luna, that is so far GD quality. Ive seen people win one with worse (if you can say that lol) paint jobs

Thanks...I (briefly) thought about doing this one for GD, but I hate sculpting, and the jowl area (where the top of the neck and jaw bone meet) is not fully mtched up in the deepest part. GD judges are very strict about technical accuracy, so it would be immediately out of the top three. I'll post another pic either this evening, or tomorrow...I got te plm trees on the yellow beach towel, and the flowers on the pants done. I also finished up some of the metals.

I got a little more work done on this guy over the past couple of nights. I painted little palm trees on the loincloth, and went back and stipled a little texture into it...in the hope of making it look a little more like a beach towel.

Still, you can't paint, and you should hand over your minis ^_-.

Would you rather this was in the PLogs section?

Aside from the rest of the model being practically perfect, the yellow is particularly amazing.

didn't think it possible that anything in flowery pants could strike fear in the many enemy of ORK kind but this hit the mark for sure.

Lunchbox not only is your painting amazing, that ork is so nice your modesty is a trait to be admired compared to the fantastic painters I know around my areas.

Lets get those Vietnam CDs out, perfect theme music for this army.

Don't you know that the ork is the word?

Wow...this is one of the most impressive Ork models I've seen. I like how the paint job is very subtle, but where the detail work keeps you coming back.

If you continue with the beach theme for the army, I'm really hoping for some surfing figures for count as StormBoyz/Bikerz...

Thanks...I'm glad ya'll like him!

Green_Ocean wrote:how did you get the base like that?

It's really easy...the "wood" he's standing on is plasticard, painted to look like an old scrap of beach house...the texture was painted on, because my oven is not working, so I couldn't sculpy it...and I'm too lazy to green-stuff it. It was built up on chunks of old sprue, and filled in using premixed unsanded grout. I use that as myfiller, because it doesn't shrink much, and it's gritty, like sand. It doesn't need to be primed either, so you can add it at the end. I washed 2 coats of GW's Desert Yellow on for a base coat, and glazed in some orange-browns, pinkish/rose, and greens. Then, dry brushed on a little bone, ivory, and spot highlighted some pure white.

I hope that answered you question...and thanks again!

He looks great Lunchy.

I really like the color choices for the skin tone, but then again, I always enjoy watching you work your magic on any models skin tones. Your transitions are some of the smoothest out there. Really great variation as well on this one. The warm green sells the beach vibe very well.

What's next on the chopping block for the boyz?
