Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

Ok, here is my first full modelling blog here on Dakka. This is part review, part modelling blog, part paint blog (I hope) and all round encouragement for me to actually get something done.

The Corvus is a resin model made by Grendel. I bought mine from WargamesWorkshop, I am sure you can also get it elsewhere, but this is where I got it from: Linky

Now on to the kit itself.

From most pictures you only see the top side of this model, including pictures from known ancilliary sites where players used the model and blogged its construction or conversion. This covers up a couople of BIG PROBLEMS with the kit, thanks for the heads up guys.

Anyway I am generally happy, while the model is shallower than it looked it will need an underplate anyway, its cheap and has a small footprint on tghe tabletop. There were a few bubble holes, but its a cheap kit, I get what I pay for, and I might still get the same problems with Forgeworld, and not get what I paid for.

More later.

The box as it arrived, the contents were wrapped in two bundles of bubblewrap. The box was in fact at least twice the size it needed to be.

[Thumb - contents.JPG]
here are the contents laid out for initial view. I cant see where the engine nozzles go. The resin was unwashed and slightly sticky. Better wash those handies.

Oh, the model has no base, well I need to boost the height of the passenger box anyway. So those aren't engine nozzles, those are the landers feet, a little crude IMHO.

the Corvus is handy small, no worries about this lander getting between the terrain and other models to do its job. Should be pretty hideable also.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion. By the juice of the brew my thoughts aquire speed, my mind becomes strained, the strain becomes a warning. It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion.

Wow, it looks like it´ll need some work... Will be interesting to see the progress, and the changes you make to the kit.

well I am thinking of pairing up the plasticard bits, this way I have spare and compare pieces, I also have a template in case the project works well enough for me to buy a second VTOL.

I bought one of these a few years ago along with the apc they do.

I added landing gear and put storm bolters under the wings, looks much better!
