I don't like rough riders, I don't like the models, I don't like the concept and I HATE hunting lances.

I do like my Necromunda Pit Slaves and would love to use them in my IG army.

Using them as arceo-flagellents doesn't seem workable.

So I had the idea of using them as rough riders, the charge is wardrugs the hunting lances are various tools.

The problem is height and bases. I think just putting them on round bases is unfair, though termi bases might be OK.

Cav bases are fine but would look weird and in any case they'd be too short.

Any ideas?

Maybe re-model them to look like they are running and place them on a rock,if you are worried about the height.

Are the rectangle bases essential?

Depends on who you play really. Hmm... sorry about the double post, the server glitched out.

Anyway, yeah I would ask first. But their is both a good and bad side for changing bases. Your rough riders may end up out of range just because of the bases for either player. Terminator bases are fair, I would think small bases would put the advantage in you favor though.

Convert them to fit properly on cavalry bases. Make mini-dioramas, or something. You've got a much higher chance of it being allowed by an opponent if it looks neat, too.

Posed so that one arm is reaching forwards and the other is back for balance, I think they'd look fine on a cav base. Another thought - put two on each base, fluffwise they've been trained to fight in pairs, resulting in them having the same fighing attributes as a Rough Rider?

I do recommend making the effort to make them the standard Rough Rider height and base size, it will avoid so many "that's not fair" arguments, especially in tournies.

I'd make cyber centaurs of them, but then I would make anything more difficult if possible...

The action poses would work very well, although it's quite difficult to do this with metal models unless you like to cut then up completely.

Hmm I do have some plastic spiders... I could make something out of them and try to make it look cyborgy.

Doesn't help my use my pit slaves though. I luff my little pit slaves.
