Every since the Awkward Gaming Moments thread was taken behind the barn and shot for going off topic I been recalling moments in my gaming experience that would have been well suited for the now deceased thread. I also think that there needs to be an outlet for all the frustrating, awkward, entertaining, or otherwise noteworthy events that occur to gamers- hence this new thread.

“Calling all Vampires”

Like I stated in the Awkward Gaming Moment thread after my sports practice I would go and hang out with the vampires who were allowed to use a wing of our high school to play their LARP. While there I was a hapless human to be preyed upon, while the vamps played out their game.

I had a one friend who played the game as a vampire, he typically had the expression of an overexcited puppy and often found very creative ways of getting into trouble. Well he decided to stir things up while we were hanging out in the English room/bar and jump onto the table and scream out something like, “Vampires, vampires are all around us, flee humans save yourselves we are surrounded by vampires!”. This of course effected the game significantly as the vampires had to conceal their existence from the mortals. Another friend, people who read the Awkward Gaming Moment thread would know him as Mr. Pink, played along as a mere human and spouted lines like “Gee golly vampires here, Oh NO!!” in nasally geeky voice. Both were dragged out of the “bar” and with the excuse that they had too much to drink.

Well, the game went back to normal with the humans writing off the encounter as two drunks having fun. Then a voice comes on from the intercom, “To all normal humans you are surrounded by vampires flee, flee now!!!” The system was set up so any classroom could call any other so he could be anywhere in the school. He continued to use his radio time to out the Vampires and warn humanity of the undead threat with Mr. Pink acting as his backup DJ, the vamps searching for him all the while – checking each classroom in the school.

Eventually they got to him and you could hear the struggle over the intercom with him shouting out a final message about supporting the resistance before being cut off. I think he was banned after that.

The kid I played against Wednesday was singing to himself on my turn during the movement phase. It was that song where the guy was talking about the chick who looks better when she has something in her mouth.

It was odd because he is an overweight mix between Dwight Shrute and Napolean dynamite and (for the special bonus) has a fool's tail.

Is a fool’s tail the same as a rat tail?

I typically found that gaming at a friend’s house instead of my own or a FLGS a trying experience. One example was I was playing at a friend’s house and his cat kept jumping on the table and knocking over miniatures. My friend seemed to think it was cute and would lavish attention onto it. He even went so far to suggest that the cat be incorporated into the game as a randomly encountered monster with models knocked over taking wounds and glancing hits.

I simply veto that suggestion, but in my mind I was thinking, “Yeah great idea, and if I score a hit on it with my dark lances I should be able to slap it off the table”.

Other times:
I showed up for a 2000 point game only to find out the game was to be played on a card table less then 3’ by 3’

Been mauled by overfriendly dogs or younger siblings

I had a friend try to hook me up with his sister because he had a prophetic dream of us getting married. “I dreamt you married my sister, want to meet her?”

One time I took of my shoes upon entering the house only to have his dog get over excited and urinate all over the floor while prancing around. My friend cleaned it up by simply running over a paper towel over the spots.

4chan isn't so bad. It's just that most people start with /b/ and then run away due to the unspeakable horrors within.

You should come to /tg/ instead. We talk about Warhams and stuff.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

its not bad, unless as you said he was sent to /b/, or .....gash....../d/.

/tg/ is ok, though it has a lot of nerd hate floating around between the angry marines and warmachine bashing

okay, I'll take your word for it.

Another awkward moment was when I was dakked by a fellow gamer in the shop.

...Didn't see it coming.
