SO...I made a swamp...filled with water and flocked when the water was dry. But when I sprayed my clear cote, it dulled the water.
So on my next hill, I flocked first, then filled with water. The problems I have is that the surrounding flock is now wet from wicking up the water. How the hell I am going to do this? Can anyone walk me through?
Thanks...(again)

Roll with it?
I mean, if you ever look at swamps there's no clearcut bowl of dry/wet separating the swamp from the surroundings

Cover the water when applying the clear coat? Or don't flock all the way into the water?

So This may sound odd but I found a really cheap and easy way to make water.
Sorta created it in an architecture class in highschool.
1. Bottle of elmers glue. (dries clear)
2. Cheap touch up paint from a hobby store. (desired color)
3. Pour paint and glue together, mix with some zeal and let dry.
4. WATER!!!
5. Have a beer!

Why not put an unexploded support missile in swamp 2, making the "wet" flock look like it was splashed by the impact ? Just a thought, but then I don't think too well at 3 am !

That is a pretty good idea. Just make sure to put the missile at an angle.

This is a great way to do it, try this if you need to remake it. I am assuming you used the GW water stuff; it's not such a great deal IMHO, although I have not used it.
"Note"
Not trying to be a douche... seriously. This isn't really a swamp, I would call it a pond or a bog. It has nothing to do with the quality but swamps are usually filled with trees, and have like no solid ground. I am deeply into Horticulture, so please excuse any "demeaning" aura.
Here is a classic swamp=
Here is a small bog=
It makes me wonder how you could make a realistic replica of a swamp, besides hiring a pro-modeling company with all the gear. Gotta love those massive dioramas though, the cross-sections are the coolest part. Swamps are pretty much water everywhere, so having a single area with water would be quite rare. I suppose you would just have to sculpt the dirt floor, then add your water on top to for a shallow coat. Not all areas of a swamp are stagnant, and many have fantasy-like areas, full of dense vegetation and clear water. I would still not recommend drinking the water though

I would stop the flock a little short of the hole and paint it as mud. Rarely do you see grass grow right up to the edge of a body of water...usually there is a wash out zone.

Can't direct link to it, but this is the general idea I'll be going for in my table I'm starting on, alongside my Guard and Wood Elf armies being themed around it.

swamps and bogs are a mix of water, mud, and land. so it will look a little messy, regardless how you try to make it.
