I guess the first question would be with regards to what? I know there was a thread a day or so ago about tank bustas, but I think we need to know a little more information about what you require.

Thanks,
s2

Edit: I think I see what your asking now that I look at the codex. Your asking about the tank bustas having to move towards any vehicle, but Mad Dok moves towards any unit (loosely translated). Am I correct?

It's rather simple. Tankbustaz must always SHOOT/ASSAULT the nearest vehicle, while Mad Doc must always MOVE/ASSAULT the nearest unit.

So, what happens is the Unit always Moves towards the closest unit, always shoots at a vehicle in LOS, and then breaks down into madness in the assault phase, having to assault both the closest unit and vehicle they shot at.

Technically, Gwar!, the tankbustas need not shoot or assault the nearest vehicle, just any vehicle they have line of sight to.

Anuvver fing - when they do sumfing, they try to make it look like somfink else to confuse everybody. When one of them wants to lord it over the uvvers, 'e says "I'm very speshul so'z you gotta worship me", or "I know summink wot you lot don't know, so yer better lissen good". Da funny fing is, arf of 'em believe it and da over arf don't, so 'e 'as to hit 'em all anyway or run fer it.

The Weirdboy shoots at the same unit as the Tankbustas

Actually Gwar, the conflict isn't in the assault phase because Grotsnik's rule says:

"Grotsnik is bloodthirsty that he will always move as fast as possible towards the nearest enemy, assaulting if possible. This bloodlust is conferred to any unit he joins."

So Grotsnik (and his unit) only have to charge if possible in the assault phase.

The problem comes back to the shooting phase, where the question remains unanswered in 5th edition (except in the INAT FAQ) about whether Grotsnik (and his unit) have to run towards the nearest enemy unit or not, especially as in non-waaagh turns this will actually prevent them from assaulting.

If you're assuming that Grotsnik's rule does force the unit to run in the shooting phase (in the INAT FAQ we ruled that you have to measure in the shooting phase to see if the unit is within charge range of an enemy unit and if it is then it doesn't/can't run as this would prevent them from assaulting), then this is where Grotsnik's rule comes into direct conflict with the 'Glory Hogs' rule as one tells you that you have to shoot with the unit (at a vehicle, if visible), while the other one is telling you that you have to run with the unit towards the nearest enemy unit.

But back to the OP: unless you're using something like the INAT FAQ, this is an issue you are just going to have to agree upon with your opponent on how to play because the rules conflict with each other and there is no clear answer.

And I'll have to get this question (Glory Hogs vs. Grotsnik) into the next iteration of the INAT FAQ as well!

Our group doesn’t use the INT faq, so if it ever comes up we will just have to figure it out. I don’t ever plan on ever using the Grotsnik / tankbusta combo (don’t see any advantage to this) but who knows what can happen on a crowed battlefield. Thanks for the answer of no answer.

The land of cotton.

As previously pointed out this is a conundrum wrapped in enigma.

I would just dice for it to see if the Tankbustas or Grotsnik's rule wins when the situation arises, but that's just me and how it seems fair to play it. Your mileage may vary.

I don’t think it will ever come up in a game, I don’t ever plan on using the Grotsnick / tankbusta combo because its just not good and pointless but on a crowed battlefield who knows what could happen
