So goin through some things earlier I came accross one of the first models I ever painted Logan Grminar and let me tell you, he was in a sorry state! So I decided to strip the paint and give him a shiny new scheme. Seeing as I don't game much if at all I decided to make him a display piece and am currently workin on a nice base to plonk him on. Having decided that he was going to be a display piece I thought why not try my hand at some NMM it's an effect I've wanted to try for a while but just never had the courage to put paint to mini! so without further delat I give you my first attempt at non metallic metal:

Made a complete mess of the band with runes on eound his chest, may be able t save with a couple of clever wasjes? Meh we'll see! The rest of the gold areas I'm quite pleased with.
As always c&c is welcome, lookin forward to trying out the small amounts of silver there are on this model (oh and the rest of the model is totally WIP!! )

I like the NMM on the chest area... it looks really good. Did you use NMM on the hanging tail piece at the side of his leg? It's hard for me to tell because of the reflection at the top. If you painted this reflection then I'd say, "Great job - you fooled my eyes!".

I haven't yet found the courage to try NMM. Was it difficult to do?

Very effective NMM. I was wandering what I was looking at to begin with but soon figured it out.

Armies:
(CSM/HH) - Iron Warriors; Death Guard; World Eaters; Night Lords
IG - Vestfalian Expeditionary
Force (Solar Auxilia - HH)
SM - Blades of Inaros (Homebrew)
DE - Kabal of Ouroboros

The chest piece has come out looking a lot better than it does IRL, hehe I think the same can be said for all the NMM area, and yes the pelt on his leg is NMM that's just skull white as the final highlight making it look all shiny I think they key to nailing NMM is patience, I kinda rushed this, I should have spent longer blending the highlights up better and using more highlight stages.

(edit): Hehe You'll have to excuse the rest of the model, the rest is very, very, very WIP!
