Well I finished up my first rough rider unit today (hopefully not the last) and was about to pick up the new all plastic cadian command squad and build myself a brand new CCS for the new edition; and then I had a not too original idea but one i think could turn out well if done right. A CCS on horseback; mind you i would only be able to use them in friendly games but considering my tournament army is already done; this seemed like a great idea. The next thought was which horses to use, I'm not a huge fan of the GW Horses as such I decided to open up this thread to see if anyone has had success with other horse models (eventually this may turn into an entirely mounted army so i would like it to be plastic) that fit with the 28mm herioc scale minatiues GW produces.

You could try some of these horsies... They are a bit larger than 28mm, though, but you might be able to make them work. Pre-painted, too.

The Pistolier horses are good though, much better than the current line of ponies.

Pistolier horses; i thought all of the GW guys used the same horse (other than chaos) that were in the bitz section but I must admit I am wrong.. and those horses do look really great and definitely match what I'm looking for plus all those extra bitz for whatever
