As long as the unit has Adepta Sororitas special rule and the unit that has joined is a Sororitas or fathful, then the act of faith can be used on the squad. So I would not be able to take an IG Infantry Squad and have a Connoness join and be able to use an Act

I regularly run a palantine with LOF with a maxed squad of sisters for this very reason. Nothing like massed rapid fire with divine guidance to punish those filthy heretics!!!
