which hive fleet did you chose, sir?

well, i cannot really judge your work, considering the first two pics, but i can tell you, the third one looks a bit ... childish, it looks like a toy, try some dirt or something

You realize you just insulted a lot of men and women who do this hobby as a very serious thing? Some, including myself, do not view this as a childish game. I view it as a strategy opportunity where I can display a well painted and modelled army against an opponents and out-strategize them in a war-like simulation. It's a game, but one for those without a childish mindset if you are to be taken seriously.

As for your models, you did a good job of putting paint where it belonged but your paints need to be seriously thinned down. Also, buy some washes and go to town as this will bring out the depth in the model.

"From the fires of Betrayal unto the blood of revenge we bring the name of Lorgar, the Bearer of the Word, the favored Son of Chaos, all praise be given to him. From those that would not heed we offer praise to those who do, that they might turn their gaze our way and gift us with the Boon of Pain, to turn the Galaxy red with the blood, and feed the hunger of the Gods."

Agreed with the above, be careful how you talk abotu this game some do take it as a serious game and enjoy it because of the depth.

About the colours I can see what he meant by childish and a toy, they are very vibrant and the thick paint really makes it look like it too.

So thin them down, and I would take one colour scheme for your army as it would look alot better.

Mr.Tangent , the color scheme is fine aslong as you like how it looks . Dont let others tell you a bunch of over grown insects have to abide a color scheme ( as far as i can tell , i think you do have a color scheme generally blue carapace )

Yes i agree with you the entire game is childish , but should keep that to ourselves , because you'll find out that people wil burn you on the stakes.

Now now Luna, it's not wrong to express your opinion about it. I wanted him to know full well though that he needs to be sure how he talks about it or people will react.

And no, a scheme is not required. It's liked, but when your army is united by a common feel it works as well. To me, your army simply looks like it was grown on different parts of the hive ship, which is fine.

I agree, a theme is nice. That way it doesn't look like a rainbow threw up all over your stuff. But on the other hand, they payed for the miniatures not us , so who are we to judge how they want to paint them as long as they are satisfied with the result.

Bugs don't need a colour scheme as much as other armies (IMHO). There is no need to keep uniformity, unlike SM and whatnot. However I agree with some of the above posts. You need to thin your paints and add some more details, by which I mean highlight and drybrush after the main coat is on. It will help the models look a lot better instead the cartoony look you have now.

If you were going for a cartoony theme then ignore the 2nd half of my post.

Good luck

WHERES THE GRIMDARK????

Tbh I'm not a huge fan of the neon nids, even the bright colors you see GW paint them sometimes...
But a theme would go a long way to making them look more like a coherent army and would prolly change peoples opinions on them. The game is meant to be entertaining for you tho, so if you like them the way they are then leave them alone.

Also....
