The plan is to attach the Captain to the Sternguard, Speeders will operate together on one flank, Preds will deploy centrally so they can quickly re-deploy as necessary. I’ll only deep strike the Land Speeders if it looks necessary. The TFC will be deployed at set up and its Drop Pod will come down empty from reserve to allow both Dreads to drop 1st turn.

However, I’ve been reading bad things about the TFC (mostly to do with it being very fragile) and as this is a tournament list I wonder if it might be worth dropping it and perhaps upgrading the scouts with Telion which will leave points over for some other upgrades elsewhere (maybe replace my HQ with Pedro or something)?

Telion would be a better buy with the scouts. The TFC is a neat idea, but dies easiy and may give up to two KPs! Also, on the pred w/TL las, drop it for an AC and get two sponson LCs. Cheaper and 2 shots > 1 TL. Maybe move the DP to the sternguard so they can come is as a surgical force a little later and not have to worry about their rhino getting popped and hoofing it? Alos, while MLs are versatile, I prefer the MM on the tac squad so they can threaten heavy armor.

OK, here's a revise without the TFC:

HQ
Captain Darnath Lysander - 200pts

Elite
Sternguard - 255pts
4 Bolters, 2 Combi-Meltas, 2 Combi-Flamers, Drop Pod
Dreadnought - 150pts
Multi-Melta & Close Combat Weapon with Heavy Flamer, Drop Pod
Dreadnought - 150pts
Multi-Melta & Close Combat Weapon with Heavy Flamer, Drop Pod

Troops
Tactical Squad - 235pts
7 Bolters, 1 Plasma Cannon, 1 Flamer, Sgt w. Power Fist, Rhino
Tactical Squad - 235pts
7 Bolters, 1 Multi-Melta, 1 Meltagun, Sgt w. Power Fist, Rhino
Scout Squad - 179pts
Telion, 5 Sniper Rifles, 1 Heavy Bolter, 6 Camo Cloaks

Fast Attack
Land Speeder Tornado - 70pts
Heavy Flamer and Multi-Melta
Land Speeder Tornado - 70pts
Heavy Flamer and Multi-Melta

Heavy Support
Predator - 85pts
Auto Cannon with Heavy Bolters
Predator - 120pts
Autocannon with Las Cannons

Total - 1749pts

I think the problem with this list is that I want to attach Lysander to the Sternguard Squad. I assume I can't drop him in the pod as he's in terminator armour so I suppose I could give the sternie Drop Pod a Locator Beacon and teleport him in with the pod in the first turn to ensure they come in together, thus leaving my second dread in reserve, or walking on.

I like the look of this list better than the TFC one but getting Lysander in with the Sterguard concerns me.

Drop pods hold 12 so i dont see why you cant have a termy in it if its a IC.

Nice one, I checked the rules and I'm assuming that I can put Lysander on the Drop Pod with the Sternguard, I can't find a rule saying that ICs in Terminator Armour cannot embark in Drop Pods, just that Terminator Armour takes up 2 spaces in a transport. So 8 SG with 1 Term is 10 people on a 12 person Drop Pod.

List updated to reflect this.
