So i am not so great at painting flames.
But couldnt resist to have some on the redeemer. Chosen to take more black to contrast the red/yellow/white.

Did i reduce the green too much or is it acceptable ?

Had a look at the old LR poster and its "inverted" painted IF LR. Worked out for them, so i tried to go there.

I think the concept is great. The one thing I think would really make it pop would be a different pattern to your flame tips. In my opinion, how you carve and arrange the flame tips really makes the flames. More so than the color transitions in the flames themselves.

I went through quite a few different patterns until I settled on the ones I use now for my Infernus Chapter. Take a look at any of the images in my gallery for examples. I can provide more vehicle shots and angles as well if you want them.

Wall of flame on the side of a Land Raider is awesome, just make the tips more realistic and think you have a winner there.

The one think I would say is that all of the bright flame colors on the sides makes the rest of the tank look flat. Highlighting the rest of the model would go a long way towards bringing out the green. Your landraider looks very different form the norm, and that's a good thing.

Is that He'Stan's back banner thingy on the front?

Yes, i've seen your awesome models.

The problem of the "concept" could be the lack of planning the flames. I did just paint them.
Turned out they need some more work.

The highlights are so few, they may go unnoticed....

The 'back banner thingy' has to be removed from H'estan to save the model. As had the 'scroll/parchment/seal thingy' to be removed.
Its a really shame what GW did with his backpack and his spear.
I think this new place is better.

To quote the immortal bard Beavis, "Fire! Fire!"

I think it's fine. It's maybe a bit OTT on the amount of pure flameage, but it's okay.

Love the LR, the flames look pretty cool, as a next idea if you ever decide to attempt this again is have the tip of the flame transform into the Salamander icon if it's possible..

@ wolfgang: Nice idea to paint a transformation on a tank, but i am not overconfident enough to try it.

I am ok with it beeing ok.

Maybe this change could improve it a bit?

I love it, but technically talking, the colors are inversed, for the tips of the flames would be red, since they'll be the cooler section and the base would tend to white as it's hotter.

Of course, I understand it as an artistical license sice you want it to stand out, and I love it.

Fantastic. The touch up on the top of the flames is a huge step forward. Very nice improvement!

Awesome paintjob, and I love that last picture, you did a good job, adding the 'null area' to the top of the fire helps make it stand out.

Thanks.

I'll redo the other side too. ( appreciated the opinions before i get too many layers of paint ).

@ Dark: I am aware of that. Did invert both, flames and usual sallie coloring.
