Matt Wilson of Privateer Press sits down with the D6 Generation team to discuss the many big Privateer events of 2009 up to and including the new Warmachine video game.

But first we need to report on all our crazy adventures at GenCon 2009. Russ, Raef, and Craig discuss all the great games they played and what the highlights of the convention were for them in a special extended edition of Achievements in Gaming.

And don't miss the first ever Rapid Fire recorded in front of a live audience!!

All that and our usual 'not too horrible' humor, with features such as:

- When Wives Attack
- The Hollywood Minute
- Words form Wales
- & More

Downloading it now. Did you announce the Exterminatus Contest winner?

Yes. Top enteries were read, and a winner was declared.

Sadly, I was not even one of the top four. :( Oh, well. I guess I'll have to buy Ennie-Winning Ross Watson's books.

Thanks to everyone who entered into the contest, there were over 70 entries all together, and we went over all of them several times! We ended up sending 12 to Ross, and he agonized over it for more than a day, and then complained that we'd given him the hard job!

Far-stretching, endless Time
Brings forth all hidden things,
And buries that which once did shine.
The firm resolve falters, the sacred oath is shattered;
And let none say, "It cannot happen here".

Great episode.

The competition for the Exterminatus Declaration seemed more fierce than my meager entry was prepared for. I enjoyed all that were read or performed as was the case with the World's End entry. Now, it looks like I'll have to buy the books after all...after I get my Malifaux groups, and after I get Battlelore, and even after I pick up grind, and, oh, is that a new Space Wolf Codex coming out? Well, then, after I get a few of the new models...Then, we'll see.

A pint has been raised in honor of Owen's poor stegadon. From an appropriate mug, no less.

What kind of roll do you need to pass a Passive/Aggressive Round of Life Streaming Sniper Fire? I think I might have failed mine.

Well done you......

I still weep for its scaly hide although yesterday it fought its first two battles in its now heavily converted state and did me proud.

Guys another great show!

Russ, about your camera and phone problem. I think the best solution if you are willing to carry both a good camera and a phone is to get yourself a micro SD card with an SD adapter. Put the adapter with the micro SD card into the camera and take your pictures. When you are ready, take the micro SD card out of the adapter and plug that into your phone. Once it is in the phone you can tweet or email your pictures. It's a lot cleaner than messing with bluetooth or trying to find cables to link the phone and camera.

Good one, Tertius. I even recorded mine, and it got me no where.

Hi guys,

I listened to the latest episode while driving back to the uk from south france. It helped munch the miles!

A quick question, what recording gear did you use for the gen con interviews? The sound quality is really good.

Thanks for doing the show, i know how much work goes into it

Ben.

Another good episode and yet another game to check out (Malifaux).

@ Owen, condolences on the Stegadon. If it makes you feel better I once lost an entire squad of Empire swordsmen to my wife's SUV. However, I did not compose a poem in their honor. I am glad I wasn't driving when I listened to your's.

Great episode guys. Loved the Hollywood minute - both funny and true.

Craig, I'm a lot like you, and also very lucky to have a wife who tolerates my gaming (mostly). I have been guilty of the same offense; using every free second to work on projects, when sometimes I should set down the brush and scalpel, and show some appreciation for my enabling wife.

Thanks for the reminder; it's one all hobbyists need from time to time!

Between listening to you, and my brother (who teaches as well) I am becoming convinced that I need to get a teaching cert and become a teacher. 3 months of solid game/ project time? That's worth more than words can express!

Russ, I was glad to hear your old "Whats in the News" persona return. Craig may be the Thespian, but you're news readings are more fun when you ham it up a bit.

Cheers, fellas.

A really good episode guys. I'd absolutely love to go to Gencon one day, but alas, the price is somewhat prohibitive.

Is there somewhere you can see the fun Exterminatus entries? I think you mentioned them in the show being in the show notes but I can't find them.
