Hi all, I am after some advice and techniques on how to paint wires and cables. Currently I am working on the Stompa and have reached the part on the arms where there are some detailing on them involving cables etc. A steady hand has proved useful I admit but I was wondering what others do in terms of highlighting and shading, when you have two wires running alongside each other, so close?

These are the sort of cables I mean....

Given its orky, and likely to be a little greasy/grimey, maybe a wash of the ever-useful devlan mud on those cables that are close together. THe Dev mud would run into the crevice and add a natural highlight?

Just a thought.

I'd do the same, but I would use Boltgun Metal to add a little wear to the edges of the metal first as you'd want to use it around the joints in the hydrolics.
