WHy don't they hold G20, G8 etc (basically any world meeting that is going to attract stinky protesters looking to cause trouble) on a cruise ship defended by a naval battle group?

Because then the participants wouldnt get the massive ego massage that they crave.

Because then the accusation would be that they are aloof, drifting offshore in decadence whilst the rest of us languish, plus the cost of getting a big group of warships to do that is gonna cost more, plus the argument would crop up that a naval battle group should be policing the world's oceans and not bodyguarding a wealthy few.
