I just got my second Tau Battleforce box and was excited to get going on my Devilfish . I started with the engines and what do I find but a miscast on both engines. So, I take out my first Devilfish just to make sure it was a miscast piece and sure enough, the lack of plastic in the engine vent is a miscast. See photos.

So, I emailed GW with the attached photos and proceed to assemble my Crisis Suit and what do I find again? Well, the middle part of the three-part torso is warped beyond the powers of a hobbly vice to hold together. So, I emailed them a second time. Now, I was wondering, how soon would I expect a response from them. Should I just take it to the FLGS where I bought it and have them exchange it for me? I figure it is not their fault that GW sent them some miscast parts which is why I contacted GW first.

My Battleforce's Devilfish's engines are the same.

Edit: Exactly 100% the same after looking at them and compairing them to this picture.

I would wait a day or 2 until I hear back from GW (if they respond that is). If not, then head back to the FLGS you bought it at and ask for an exchange. They store may have better luck getting their distributor to cough up a replacement for them then us meaningless end consumer types would.

Cheers

What id try doing, Is dont email, but actually call in to GW, i've had similar problems before. I had a metal juggernaught that was broken, Called up, and they sent me out a new one, without even asking for the broken one back.

Oh stop complaining, its for the greater good... Now get in the box!

My first Battlebox had this part cast differently, the vent actually extended beyond and kind of inserted into the other half which is why i had to take a second look at my first Devilfish.

So they're just being lazy then? I'd still say that two exactly the same like that is more of a coincidence

SO, I gave GW a call and after waiting about 15 mins, they needed information from the box itself (product code and batch number) which is at home at the moment. I will give them a call later. THe operator made it sound like after I got those numbers to him, they would be able to set-up a replacement to be sent out which would be really cool.

It's a couple of years since I made my Crisis Suits but I remember the bodies all being warped to hell and using a G cramp to make them stick together.

I think it's just a badly designed or produced model.

I don't recall having your problem with my skimmer though.

Warlord Imp , i would take the warped kits to the GamesWorkshop in person and show it to them.

And expect them to replace it with brand new boxes.
( probably cheaper for them too minus the stupid mail service they have )

Happened to my Drop Pod's support trusses, though I'm thinking it was due to the heat during transit, being in a trunk during the summer and all, rather than a warped part... Though the plastic did look sort of 'off' in spots.

Still worked after some greenstuffing, but the doors don't close all the way :(

Couldn't replace it at the FLGS I frequent (They never sell the bloody things - big suprise there -_-) and I really don't think it's worth calling them over something like a Drop Pod. If it were something that actually mattered beyond useless asthetic value, I might've been inclined to call it in.

Generally though, they're really quick about replacement. They'll pull stock out of the closest warehouse and ship it direct via post.

I've seen you have already called GW - that is what you should do the as soon as you find the warped part. i'm just adding my 2cents in -

Don't take it back to the store, there is why - about 70-80% of the time GW will be putting the miscast parts into the combo boxes. It is really a problem with the first of the models out. This could be that they have problems getting the bugs out of the first run models and they need to get their "numbers" out and can just fix the problem later or they can just hope that the person that got the model doesn't know better, doesn't care, or loves a challenge. So only some of us call and request a new part. So they make out, they don't waste crappy parts. I'm really sure GW wouldn't send us crappy parts on purpose cause they care about us........no really .....well ok they care about the money we spend. so it really isn't the store fault that GW sells crappy parts.

I have had no problem calling and getting a replacement. I got a SM predator tank and the auto cannon barrel was melted looking. i called and told them about it and in less then a week i got a replacement.

I recently had a warped part in a land raider box. I called GW and they fixed me up in a super good way.

Say what you will about GW's business practices and product, but their customer support is top notch.

It could be worse, you could be on fire.
