Got a spare metal Sicarius and he will most likey end up as "counts as", so I've thought about changing him a bit.

Came up with 3 variants:

1) Use his sword and a inquisitors book
2) Use a upright SM sword and a inquisitors book
3) Use a plasmapistol and a sword

What do you think? 1, 2 or 3 ?

2) Use a upright SM sword and a inquisitors book

It shows that care has gone into converting more than one piece of the model. Also it looks coolest.

One; the model looks better as a whole, unless you could model the sword such that it's like the IG Junior Officer's sword where it's right next to his body and pointing straight up, and the left hand can hold the book.
I still just like the general feel of the model with the sword resting in his hand and him holding the book.

Or, you could put the sword in its sheath on his backpack or somesuch and have him leveling a plasma pistol at a foe. Not sure what to do with the other hand though... Maybe have the off hand be pressed against his ear, interpreting an order from Marneus Hisself?

Either way, keep up the creativity.

I didn't see an option for "None of the Above."

Honestly, Space Marine heroes should be in kick-ass mode when on the tabletop. Holding books or swords upright makes them look like statues. If I were forced to choose one of the options at gunpoint, it would probably be the first one, since it fits the pose best.

I like variaint two. You do not see a lot marines with books. It gives him a heroic yet intelligent pose.

At least i am not alone with this decision. thanks.

Yes, i think its a case of 2 options.
Sicarius has a awful pose. His sword is too small. Maybe it was meant as gladius, but it looks like a bad sculpted combat blade and is
really not as big as a catachan'knife'.
The one piece body doesnt help either. The arms are close to his body and the common "fan from somewhere" gets this model into
a pose where it is hard to not have it look like a statue.

Option 1:

Use the pose to give the model a theme: Captain standing before his men and citing from the codex.

Option 2:

Change his look as best as possible to make him less static: Would be pic 3. Sword unsheated and pistol hold ready.

But i am not bound to those options/variants, so feel free to suggest changes.

Could try to move his short-sword holding 'hand+sheated sword' diagonal, so he has the sword at its handle grabbed but the sheat is still strapped to his "belt". ( never seen those parts of the power armor, where they storage things and strap wargear to ).

Different angles of the pics wanted?

PS: the elastic band is needed to keep the bitz in position
