Heh, this model was an experience to put together! It wasnt as bad as I feared, but still one of the most challenging models I have ever assembled. After painstakingly pinning and putty, when I went to prime her I forgot about the weather and very nearly succumbed to furry primed model syndrome....luckily I was able to salvage her.

Let me know what you think and enjoy! This is the start of my new fantasy Daemon force.

Not my favourite Greater Daemon, but you've done an excellent job, and the colour scheme is commendable. I wanted to say 'very natural' but the term probably doesn't apply to creatures from a parallel universe.

I really should be spending my time more constructively.

The blue claws and hair are phenomenal! The skin blending into the horns are really good too!. I like the red/burgundy round the eyes and following up the horns.

The colours are really nice. How many colours were used?

Of course, as an American, that means I must say that soccer sucks, and football (real football... you know, the one where you do everything with your hands) is 10,000 times as good. I mean, football players could probably beat up soccer players, even, because they actually know sports.

Love the KoS from Forgeworld, does the base come with?

Unfortunately no the base didnt come with her, but I just butchered an old Chariot base, which fit just fine! The colors on the skin were a nightmare....if i remember correctly, I used shadow grey+tanned flesh+midnight blue as the base, then Highlighted with base+Fortress Grey...then Space Wolf Grey, and finally pure skull white....Luckily, since it is large amounts of smooth surface around, I was able to practice and do a decent job on the blending. The claws are the base color highlighted with Hawk Turquoise.

Beautiful piece, HiveFleet, and something to be very proud of. The skin impreses me the most. It's such a large area, and yet the transitions are very smooth. Did you gloss coat the leather portions of the model, or is that just camera glare? If this is just the start of your Demon army, please post WIPs and painted pics as you go. I'm sure a lot of people would love to see where you go from here.

Thank you very much for all the nice comments! It took me a week to paint her, but I was very happy with the end result.

Yes, the leather parts were gloss varnished, I took the idea from the painted ones on the forgeworld site, which were pretty much the only parts I liked on their painted versions.

The Daemon Army itself is a mix of Gods, and I think for traditions sake I am going to paint them all in their "Classical" color schemes. i.e. Pastels for Slaanesh, Blue and yellow for Tzeentch(PINK!! for horrors...yes...real pink!), brass red and black for Khorne and so forth...

The next piece I am working on is the Flesh Hound unit which I am wrapping up the first of three....I am using the Plastic Hounds, since I no longer work for GW and cant filch models with a sweet discount!...I havent converted them, instead relied on Color to sway the viewer that these are Daemonic rather than just "morphologically disturbed" puppies. I am using brass, red washes for their fur...looks pretty sweet and other worldly, with deep red skin and bone horns...I will post pics as soon as I get them based up tonight or tomorrow...

after that, I am going to paint the Herald and Masque....Props to RedBeard as I stole your Tzeentch Herald idea by using Ushabti!!

I intend to collect and paint all of the FW Greater Daemons...I have nurgle and slaanesh, gotta save up for the other two...the Tzeentch Daemon comes out at Christmas, so I'll see if the wifey will induldge me!
