I made some a while back that are very similar. You can check them out in my gallery here. Just use lots of armor, pistons and rivets.

I saw those yesterday artyboy, and they are awesome.

About the body, it's a temp one i made using paper, i'm going to use pvc tubes or plasticard, or just a kinderegg, because i have loads of those in my house.

If your using PVC tubes go to a DIY shop first before the modelling shop as it so much cheaper. These look a very good start can't wait to see what you do for weapons!

The closest thing i have to a modelling store here is a toy store which sells warhammer models...

And about the weapons, well, there comes the fun part.

I cannibalised a pen just to get those small worky bits inside, and i looted a rocket launcher with four barrels from a broken transformer. The melee weapon will probably be made of sprue bits, a spring and some other things.

I need suggestions on what to give it, but i think i'll just make a bunch of the little buggers, maybe 9 or so.

Then, should i make 3 of each weapon? And 9 melee arms of course.

A mate of mine uses Grotzookas to devestating effect the Rokkit Launcha and Kustom mega-Blasta are also fairly good. A Big Shoota and Skorcha seems a waste of BS3 to me. DIY/Hardware shops are a great source of cheap bits for this type of project however.

I should really get myself a codex...

Anyways, i'll take some more pics of the progress tomorrow, when the sun comes out again.

I'll try to get some magnets, to make interchangeable weapons.

Back in action, just had to do something while waiting for those two AoBRs I ordered to arrive.
I made the body from sprue, the gears are some lego gears I just slapped on and the claw is the blade of a toy axe connected with GS to a lil' lego nut.

Cool! The legs looks a bit stiff though. Maybe if you positioned the legs as if it where about to take a step it would look more dynamic?

I was originally thinking that, but then decided for a more relaxed look. This is my first scratch build and it's more for me to learn what i can do with the stuff i have. Next one will be a helluvalot more dynamic, aws thinking about like one dashing forward, and that one just has to have a chainsaw then.

I'm also working on an ork army and when I saw your kans I got very inspired. I got loads of kindereggs to use for terrain an such. but now I have built my own kans from kindereggs instead! I've come up with 3 kans so far and hoping to build 3 more thank you for inspiring me! maybe I'll post some pics of my own kans aswell!

Umm, the legs don't look like thy were put together by an ork, they look way too sturdy, but good job so far.
