EDIT: I guess what I should've said first was, these are rules for using Zarakynel in a Chaos Daemons army (where she belongs). I believe the current rules featured in Imperial Armour are for Chaos Space Marines only. I guess the thread title should be 'Rules for using Zarakynel in a Chaos Daemons army'.

I just ordered this beautiful monstrosity, and while I'm waiting for her to arrive I decided to have a crack at updating the rules for my friendly games. I started a thread previously about any official rules updates that I might've missed, but there don't appear to be any.

I was thinking of either rewriting the rules completely (as per the attachment) or using Zarakynel as per the current official rules, but reducing the points cost due to some of the unuseable rules.

Well, here are my rules, I just knocked em up quicky. C&C welcome. Also, feel free to post your own rules for her, along with points values.

EDIT: Added Fleet special rule.

EDIT: No replies? Maybe people are too lazy to download and open an attachment, so I'll just post the rules here. I really like the second set of rules, please let me know if this is fair (I'm not sure about having Musk in there).

THIS for Apocalypse games:

Zarakynel Pts: 666 WS: 10 BS: 3 S: 7 T: 8 W: 6 I: 10 A: 7 Ld: 10 Sv: -/4+

Weapons: Souleater

Unit Type: Gargantuan Creature

Daemonic Gifts: Aura of Aquiescence, Pavane of Slaanesh, Soporific Musk, Transfixing Gaze

Special Rules:
Daemon, Fleet
Fearsome – The Keeper of Secrets is both terrifying and seductive to behold. If an enemy unit has to take a Morale check after losing a combat they must do so at -2 Leadership.
Living Icon – Such is the power of Zarakynel that it counts as a Chaos Icon.
The Souleater - Zarakynel’s daemonic weapon is the Souleater, a long slender blade of terrible power, which thirsts for the souls of the innocent. No hits made with the Souleater will ever need worse than a 3+ to wound. Wounds from the Soul Eater cause Instant Death.
Piercing Gaze - To look into Zarakynel's eyes is to gaze into eternity, and to court oblivion. Entire armies of mortals have been known to gather in idle groups, lost in their adoration as swift rending claws dismember them where they stand... As such, all units within 18" at the start of the shooting phase that have line of sight to Zarakynel (friend or foe!) must pass a Leadership test at -2 or be Pinned.

OR THIS for regular games (as a named KoS to sit in line with Skarbrand, Fateweaver and Ku'gath)
EDIT: For anyone actually reading this thread, I changed the regular game version. I think it's a lot more balanced, and not uber powerful like the old version.

Zarakynel Pts: 300 WS: 8 BS: 4 S: 6 T: 6 W: 4 I: 10 A: 8 Ld: 10 Sv: -/4+

Weapons: Souleater

Unit Type: Monstrous Creature

Daemonic Gifts: Aura of Aquiescence, Soporific Musk, Transfixing Gaze, Rending Claws

Special Rules:
Daemon, Fleet
The Souleater: Zarakynel’s daemonic weapon is the Souleater, a long slender blade of terrible power, which thirsts for the souls of the innocent. Wounds from the Soul Eater ignore invulnerable saves.
Enrapturing Aura: As the embodiment of man's repressed desires, Zarakynel exudes an aura that is irrisistable to mortals. All units within 12" at the start of the shooting phase that have line of sight to Zarakynel (friend or foe!) must pass a Leadership test or be Pinned.

Ok. Why not? The same advice I always give. Run a campaign, take pics and post to the battle reports.

ignoring invulnerable saves AND instant death is a bit much... pick one or the other imo.
