ONI is a galactic corporation whose profits soar into the billions each year, mainly from exploitation of the majority of the civilized worlds. It is also a huge family, a network of contractors, entrepreneurs, and companies throughout the galaxy. ONI has an army of professional soldiers ready to do anything to defend its interests and its clientele. Some of their professionals continue to fight, even after their demise: ONI has discovered the secret of immortality and deploys entire companies made up of zombies equipped with high-tech weapons. With ONI, even death provides an opportunity for long-term profitability!

Three departments dominate the armed forces of ONI Corporation:

* MercForce is ONI's mercenary army. These experts soldiers are recruited from the best veteran warriors in the galaxy. These killers’ trust and loyalty is rented. They will win, or your money back…guaranteed!
* R&D - Research & Destruction is at the forefront of military technology. Its state of the art AFVs and soldiers are equipped with experimental cybernetic modules. Unleash your fury on your enemies with the weapons of the future!
* V-SWAT is ONI's secret army. Assassination, kidnapping, lightning-strikes, and recovery of funds are all specialties of these shadow-fighters. The crème de la crème of ONI is at your service: just name your enemies and watch them die in silence…or not, as you please.

The Army Book : ONI is a supplement for AT-43, a pre-assembled and prepainted sci-fi miniatures game. The Army Book contains everything you need to know about how to play with or battle against the ONI corporation:

* The history of the ONI corporation, its corporate culture and the planets it controls;
* Rules for ONI’s three factions: MercForce, Research & Destruction and Voodoo SWAT;
* The background and rules regarding ONI’s three heroes: Byron Samedi, John Priest and Natalya "Bokor" Bokov;
* ONI’s infantry and vehicle game rules;
* Revelations into the secrets ONI corporation holds and the menace they represent to AT-43’s galaxy.

HAHA... The post title confused me at first. Considering 1) My screen name is 'oni' and 2) I just posted on my blog a rather large Tyranid army box and its contents.

Zombies in APCs? Interesting. I could use some of those APCs for other games.

I like the six wheeled APC much more than the four wheeled one. Cyber zombies are also nice.

Man is that site slow, and the pop up windows makes tearing the images out a little more tough ... But here we go:

I really dig the force, reminds me of, well, many things, but I suppose the old NeoSov from VOR. Frankly anything that reminds me of the NeoSov book is a win. Are the books for AT-43 worth getting? I could definitely look into picking it up for the cool factor alone. Then again I meant to get the Therian book too, back when

Models themselves are ok - zombies are pretty decent - but the zombie tac-arms we saw before were ace. Oblits and such uses, I suppose.

I dunno, I really like this force. These and the Red-bloc would definitely be my factions, if there were anyone within 100 miles who was interested in such a game.

i like the books...
they are a good read, with great art...
if you get 'em on discount from the warstore, it almost feels like a good deal...
they are a little slim compared to the old style of rackham books, but are well done...

OKay, I'm diggin' those APCs. If they're cheap enough, I might have just found the Chimera/Hellhound and Salamander counts-as to go with my Warzone-fig-based IG. The longer, 6-wheeled version definitely looks a bit less cartoony than the shorter 4-wheeler. I think it's not just the longer chassis, but the smaller and less rakishly placed smoke grenade tubes.

Regardless, they'll both convert up nicely, if the price is right. Looking at the prices on this site, I guess I'll have to wait till either a vehicle-based package deal is released, or until they start showing up on trade sites.

EDIT: Just saw the artillery AFV in the army deal too- that sinks it. If I can get a full set of these, that's where next month's fun budget is going.

I've been thinking about the zombie tac-arms all day and really really wanting to know how the finals will turn out. For a refresher, here's a pic Luna linked to back when:

I've been racking my brains thinking of uses for these guys + zombie troopers + The Baron in 40k (the answer? LatD!), but suddenly I'm wondering: is AT-43 worth looking into seriously? And paying all that $$ for models I have to repaint?

EDIT: Just noticed that the cyborg army is "Research & Destruction", delicious!

Naw Luna, I'm just complaining about prepainted figs some more. I feel like part of what you're paying for with AT-43 is the prepaint - which I would be 110% happy to not have on there. For the same price even!

But looking at it, tac-arms are 3 for $30 ($23 from TWS). Not in love with paying that - termies cost the same, but I get to build the models and have a nice clean base to paint upon (and are made from nicer plastic, from what I remember of AT-43 figs) - but it could certainly be worse.

So Luna, do you play AT? I know you have loads of it, wonder how you find the game itself?

While you did not asked me, I will answer also instead of Luna... These are my opinions AND although I like the game I am not Rackham insider, ok?

IMHO the game is very fluid with few moments of "waiting"-->< the activation sequence: move and shooting/combat a full unit is rewarding as sometime you need to react fast to counteract or force your opponent to do the same to you... In most cases going first does not guarantee to wipe out the army of your opponent as well as going second doesn’t make you lose the game.

I like that the "heroes" just give some special abilities (some drills or stealth) without being superhumans or even better stats (in some cases its the opposite and need to be protected). Arguably Nina 0 is broken however I have never have problems taking her out for that matter. Some heroes gave you more leadership and moral boosts and others are combat machines without being game breaking.

The direct fire is good system as there is a "footprint" (from one side of your unit to the other) that is the area that is covered by fire from your unit to the target unit, any fighter in the middle will take impacts... thus comparably there is no cover save as in 40k. Cover as well is given if >50% of your unit is behind something and you can improve it by giving a drills (Cogs are exception)
Indirect fire is easy, but some folks don’t like it as they thing it’s broken, personally I think that small modifications in terms of deviation is needed to make it scatter more but besides that I think is ok.
Finally, I like the game is fast and deadly, objectives are needed to make the game balanced as well as terrain, the armies have their own flavor and even then you can adjust them to your preferences infantry or AFV to name only two, however you will ALWAYS need both.

Although they are technically zombies, it seems to have more depth thatn that, an Alien sentient virus is starting to infect the humanity...

Ok, these look very nice. I'm not interested in playing AT-43 (yet) but I might start a little force up with a view to using the miniatures for other things (Star Grunt II) or even...#spits# WH40K, perhaps as Stormtroopers.....who knows.

I will definately repaint them.....to rude not to really!

The APC look crap! I will have to use 1/35 scale M1127 Stryker models as APCs instead.......much better!

I'm really looking forward to the ONI release.

Personally, I get my painting and modelling fix with 40K.

The fact that the AT-43 stuff comes pre-painted is a GOOD THING, IMO ... it means the models for another game system aren't added to my "To Do" list !!!

And it lets me introduce non-hobby / non-mini-gamer friends to an exciting, quick-playing game they might enjoy. So far, two have gotten into the it.

Maybe the target audience isn't us hardcore hobby-gamers. But it does suck for the Rackham fans of old who were, when they did target that audience.

I picked up a Red Block force today.

The price was right. Now that those ONI guys are out, I might have to get in on them, as well.

Class warfare at its best.

The little prepainted thing at first didn't go over well for me, but after playing a game or two, I thought that it was kinda neat.

The Mechs have removable weapons and upgrades, and along with the figures, you can go and do some pretty cool skirmish stuff if you use some Space Hulk tiles.

I'll be picking these Oni guys up, as well as a set of the Cogs.

I have to admit that they go over a hell of alot better then the ape faction does.
