Greetings and welcome to all concerned. First off, if you are not a player in this game please Do not post in this thread! If you are interested in becomeing part of this game of Genestealer check out the Registration Thread
and/or keep your eyes open, as if this first game is successful I'll undoubtedly host more.

Okay FOR THE PLAYERS! Your roles have been sent to you via PM. All roles were decided by me via a few dice rolls and were completely random. I will verify that there is at least one pro-town role (like an Inquisitor or Doctor) and that there are two Genestealers in your midst.

Rules

Votes

1) Votes must be in bold, if you do not bold your vote it will not be counted. This is a good vote - Vote: Gwar! this is a not good vote - Vote:Gwar!.

2) Please unvote if necessary before casting a new vote, it makes counting them much easier. (you are allowed to unvote as many times as you wish during a day cycle, so feel free to keep shifting your vote around as your suspicions shift)

3) Lynching will require a simple majority of votes. Once a player has reached the necessary majority, their pleas are useless and any attempts to unvote will be unheeded. Thus, as soon as any player has a majority vote that player will be lynched and all subsequent voting does not count. Feel free to post other thoughts while waiting for the lynch scene if you desire. With 7 alive 4 votes are required to lynch. With 3 alive, 2 votes would be required. Ect. ect.

4) You may vote: no lynch. If No Lynch is the majority votes at any time then the day will end with no lynch and move on to the night phase.

5) Vote counts will be tabulated and posted by me at semi-regular intervals or when requested.


Deadlines

1) Since this is the first game of Genestealer for at least the bulk of the players I will be enforcing a fixed three week day deadline. All nights have a 72 hour deadline. Deadlines will be counted from the Moderator (my) story posts that will initiate each day and night phase.

2) At the three week deadline lynching will require the same number of votes as usual, if this number is not reached the day will end 'no lynch'.

3) If you have a night choice to make, it is due by the posted deadline. I will not wait for you. If you do not submit a choice to me then nothing will happen... at all... not even a little bit.


Posting

1) The game is not to be discussed outside the thread unless your role specifically states that you may do so – and then only at night. Honor system is in effect.

2) Once your death scene has been posted, you’re dead. Stop typing. A single “Bah, you fools!” type post is allowable, but no more please.

3) No small or invisible text. Don’t edit/delete previously submitted posts either. Going back and editing a post may be grounds for disqualification from the game based on my whim.

4) Don’t quote any PMs from me. If you do, I will be most unhappy.

5) If you anticipate being unavailable for more than 3 days, please post a notice to that effect in the thread. Treat this game as a commitment. Be considerate – don’t leave us hanging.

6) Game Mods are human (allegedly), if I make a mistake please PM me I will rectify the mistake as soon as I can.

7) Please bold anything you want me to see.. Also, please try to avoid bolding anything else to ensure I DO see the ones I need to.

Prods aka 'That guy hasn't posted in a while'

1)A player will get prodded if they have been inactive for three days.

2)Weekends count as one day. (ie If your last post is on a Thursday you will not be prodded till the Monday following)

3) If you do not pick up your prod/post in game within 72 hours of it being sent I will start to look for a replacement.

4) Please post in game if you are going to be unavailable for more than 48 hours.

Misc

Remember, it’s a game and it’s supposed to be fun. Be nice to your fellow players.

The rules etc can and will be edited at any point if I deem it necessary.

Breaking the rules can be bad for your health, I reserve the right to modkill for serious/repeated naughtiness.

First Story Post - start of Day 1 - start of three week timer

Planetary Governor Soonto B. Deadicus had been lax in his defenses and the Genestealer cult had been allowed to grow unchecked within the lower levels of the Hive. When the PDF forces had turned traitor almost simultaneously all order had broken down and it was every man for himself. In a matter of hours the Hive appears to have fallen and the death toll must be in the millions. The seven of you and the planetary governor managed to make it to one of his security bunkers and seal the door.

"Well, lads," sighed the portly Soonto, "looks like we might be in for a bit of a long haul. Not to worry though, these walls are secure and I have plenty of food, and more importantly copious amounts of alcohol, to see us through the wait. I sent a message out to request aid from any nearby Imperial units and all we have to do now is kick back, relax, and await rescue." He laughed heartily as he scooped up a bottle of potent alcohol and retired to his room. The rest of you ate what food you could manage after such a horrific day and settled in for an uneasy slumber.

In the morning it came as quite a shock to find that Soonto B. Deadicus was now dead - torn apart in his room which was now a bloody mess. The remaining seven of you investigate his body, and even the most simplistic amongst you is able to recognize that the governor had been assaulted and killed by two people working in concert. Clearly there are two Genestealer sympathizers amongst you!

You each back off from the others, placing your backs to the walls as you eye each other. Rescue is coming soon, but your odds of surviving in this bunker with two of the others out to kill you seems a slim hope at best. No, your only chance is to figure out who the accursed mutants are and deal with them in an official Imperium sanctioned manner; purging with fire.

It is Day 1, and with 7 people there are a required 4 votes to lynch a suspect.

But we're clearly not safe, and that's apparently his fault as well. The trouble is, none of us will mourn the dog. Any loyal, Emperor-fearing citizen would see him shot for his failures before the Throne. The insidious nature of the alien goes beyond thinking in the traditional sense; take the Eldar, for example. They're too stupid to see our manifest destiny, but the pulsating lumps of neurons in their skulls allow them to build spindly ships that attack our navy before fleeing back to their decaying masters.

I've fought Orks on Palgine VI, and they don't need to be able to speak even basic Gothic correctly to plague our species.

Do you think our priests and lords are fools? Do you think they have conjured up a threat encroaching on humanity in a fit of hysteria?

These are dangerous enemies. They walk among us. They plot against us. They seek undermine our our cities, our temples, our forgeworlds; our way of life and our destined dominion over the stars. Don't think for a second that we can let our guard down. Assuming you don't know everything that I've said and more about the Genestealer, and simply wish for others to be misled.

As to the traitor Soonto, we all know what his fate would have been if His Divine Majesty's wrath had caught up to him before one of you did. And whoever among you it is, we will find out. You stupid, gene-twisted scum will slip up sooner or later.

All I know is that the xenos may take my life or even this system but that the Emperor's glorious armies will burn them all off of the face of every world they besmirch with their vile presence. Well, as I said, I stared down the Green Tide and lived on Palgine. I killed 2 Grots and I think I might have hit an Ork but I couldn't tell because I was closing my eyes and screaming.

And trust me, even among on a planet with Orks there were wretched traitors, hoping to appease the monsters. I once found a whole town of people, with green paint smeared on their faces. They were singing and dancing, hoping that their worship of the greenskins would save them. It was disgusting. Men, women, children; everyone was part of the debauchery. They had a huge feast of food and wine set out, so that when the Orkish masters came they could give them their food, and drink, and shelter, and women (I think; I can't remember if Orks have ding dongs).

We left no one. It wasn't too hard, they were weak and slovenly, having resigned themselves to prostitution before the Orks or death at their hands. We set up some heavy stubbers along the roads out of the town and had patrols around the wooded edges of the city. The special weapon squad did great - flamers - they torched most of the town themselves. Wood houses and party tents, all deathtraps. I just had a lasgun, but I still killed about a dozen of them myself. Of course, they begged for mercy and pretended to be faithful to the Emperor when they saw us. I didn't fall for it. I bayoneted a 14 year old girl, and I have never regretted doing my duty.

There were rumors later on of their being some sort of fertility festival on the planet at that time of year. That's groxshit as far as I'm concerned. They were covered in green paint, come on.

Well, as a soldier, how long do you think we have before the guard rescues us and cleanses this world?

Cleanses this world? Probably not too long. A couple of years, maybe. We were always really good at the cleansing part.

For the rescue part, are we counting the abolition of our immortal sins through death in service to the Emperor as a rescue?
