Apparently too cheap to buy real black face paint so used black permanent marker to keep their faces hidden in the dark.
Lol.
Makes me cry to know how dumb some people make America look.
--The whole concept of government granted and government regulated 'permits' and the accompanying government mandate for government approved firearms 'training' prior to being blessed by government with the privilege to carry arms in a government approved and regulated manner, flies directly in the face of the fundamental right to keep and bear arms.

Its not like thier faces will be like that for the rest of thier lives. The outer layer wears off and is replaced with new skin cells. If you really believe that they will look like that for the rest of their lives I know who is hte real dumb ass.

They're just idiots who have hopefully learned their lesson. I doubt anyone is going to forget this incident for the rest of their lives.
People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

I really do believe intelligence is an inherited trait.

Well, the government helps the stupid by requiring warning labels that are so damned obvious only an idiot would have to be reminded.
What kind of an idiot needs to be told to shut off a bandsaw before attempting to remove the blade or turn a drill press off before attempting to change the bit?
You know somewhere at some point in time someone tried to do either of the above or nobody would have found the need to warn others of what could happen.

I could clearly use that same logic, and say that the companies were stupid for not doing it in the first place; saving themselves millions of dollars in "stupid" court fees. It is so damned obvious that someone would be stupid enough, or unskilled enough, or simply lacking in translation skills enough; to do something that incredibly stupid.
So yes, the companies are just as stupid as the stupid people, with their stupid stupid, bananas, and legal claims.
What kind of an idiot needs to be told to shut off a bandsaw before attempting to remove the blade or turn a drill press off before attempting to change the bit?
What kind of idiot can't recognize the fact that there are idiots out there, that would be so idiotic. Legal claims for a court of law to address, and other agencies to take alternative actions.
You know somewhere at some point in time someone tried to do either of the above or nobody would have found the need to warn others of what could happen.
The point still stands. The government helps those too stupid to get out of bed without breaking a leg. In the animal kingdom the stupid die, the smart ones survive.
But I digress. Sometimes posting on forums makes me feel dumber (and it's not a personal attack against you Wrex). For the most part I like your posts and logic, though I don't always agree with you (like now).

True that! I blame government subsidized corn syrup.
@Fateweaver: I agree with you to a certain extent, but I share Wrex's cynicism. STORY TIME!!!
Francis Galton was Charles Darwin’s first cousin, and based on Darwin’s work Origin of the Species, he was pretty much the pioneer of modern eugenics. Galton’s idea seems to have sprung from the observation that civilization disrupts “pure” natural selection. Paradoxically, his solution for overcoming the “unnaturalness” of civilized behavior was to further regulate it.
Galton noticed an interpretation of Darwin’s work whereby the mechanisms of natural selection were potentially thwarted by human civilization. His reasoning followed that since many human societies sought to protect the underprivileged and weak, those societies were at odds with the natural selection responsible for extinction of the weakest. Only by changing these social policies, Galton thought, could society be saved from a “reversion towards mediocrity”, a phrase he first coined in statistics and later changed to the now common, “regression towards the mean.”
Galton devised techniques such as composite photography in order to establish racial and social ‘types’ which could aid the management of society. He was a proponent of the idea of selective breeding amongst humans in order to halt what he saw as the decline of the British race. His ideas would go on to influence the sterilisation movements in countries such as Sweden, the United States and Germany. His work on eugenics was later adpoted by the Nazi party as a justification for the systematic elimination of the Jews and other races.
Moral of the story: The only "logical" (I use the term loosely) outcome to that line of thought is a dark and twisty road. Besides, Cthulhu disapproves of eugenics...

I seriously cannot find a line of reasoning that solidly supports forced evolution. If the majority of people want to help those in need (at least for appearances sake), there opinions should matter. When you really get down to brass tax, the fact that someone is incapable in one respect, has nothing to do with the fact that they may be hyper-capable in another. I have yet to meet a person that is actually as intelligent as people would like to think themselves to be capable of. Sometimes, a person may be all that is holding a family together, and perhaps that family has a kid in it that could cure aids one day; if that family falls apart, or that kid was never born, or somebody takes that kid, and puts them in an even worse situation... Aids doesn't get cured for another two decades, because that gene was so inexplicably rare, if you choose to really try and look at it in that fashion.
In essence, for a person to actually be universally intelligent, not just hyper-capable in a few areas, they would have to be an alien. The ability to wrestle gorillas, and kill sharks with a knife; the ability to calculate faster than a computer, or beat a computer at chess, in turn being able to beat any other person at chess. All of these things require hyper-capable intelligence, and that most definitely includes physical activity. The person who can literally go hand to hand with a bear, is one smart ass mutha frikka... no joke. Not get your ass kicked while trying to fight a bear, because you are stupid for trying to do it in the first place; the actual ability to do so in the first place... with your hands, and maybe a knife too.
But I digress. Sometimes posting on forums makes me feel dumber (and it's not a personal attack against you Wrex). For the most part I like your posts and logic, though I don't always agree with you (like now).
No worries man, people are just much too diverse for me to draw such a harsh line.

In general, a lot of the psuedo-science behind eugenics and the like, is based on real science, from an entirely different area.
Breeding something like peas for instance, a lot of the information that you can gather is very clear; not to say that our understanding of the "mechanics" is not still underdeveloped. When you start working with more complicated organisms, the amount of factors involved, and in the case of humans, the underlying moral implications become more than most would care to think about.
The main point is this though, your concept of what the gene-pool should contain, probably bears very little relevance to what the reality of it is. I have met people that were 3 feet tall, and had great personalities, and I have met people that were 7 feet tall, and were complete a-holes. What does this mean? The fact is that little people can have big people, and big people can have little people; and there is basically damned all that you or I can actually do about it. Even if I love that midget, but hate that tall bastard, it really makes no difference.
Evolution is not a straight line, it meanders quite a lot, and has a short attention span... and eats flies, umm... banana... pudding... LIZARD!!!

We all could have had a good laugh at a couple of idiots who used black marker on their faces.
Instead we get another journey into the fascination a part of the internet has with eugenics. Which is, by the way, a very stupid thing to believe. Spot the irony?
“We may observe that the government in a civilized country is much more expensive than in a barbarous one; and when we say that one government is more expensive than another, it is the same as if we said that that one country is farther advanced in improvement than another. To say that the government is expensive and the people not oppressed is to say that the people are rich.”
Adam Smith, who must have been some kind of leftie or something.
Thanks for part two of the facepen brigade. I'm gonna try to memorize those faces, so that if I ever see them, I can take the pics out of my wallet. Bam!

Mebbe I should have been more clear, that is not my concept. More like commentary. I saw this on PBS and Fate's post reminded me of it.
When I said I agree to a certain extent, it was the part about humanity countering natural selection. (See: Idiocracy, Wall E)
I was just entertaining Fate's idea... And now that I reread that, I guess the last bit was pretty gratuitous.
It is 1:20 in the morning. Getting tired and sloppy with the copy-pasta. I should go to bed before Frazz tells me to get off his lawn.
My personal two cents is the Cthulu bit. Don't deny the Old One his OM NOM NOM! There are soooo many idiots in this world, he would starve if we got rid of them all. They are pre-flayed for his satisfaction!

I was talking in generals, but I think I understand what you mean. Just felt like elaborating a bit on some of what you quoted, I suppose I was a bit unclear with that.
