Initiative: Guard, chooses to setup second.
Guard wins the initiative and lets me pick my side and setup first.
I knew the Guard wanted to turtle up and protect the Colossus; I chose the side with the 3 ruins. My setup was banking on him placing his artillery in his only available ruin. To help him with his choice, I deployed the las-cannon tactical squad throughout my center ruin with only the cannon on the top floor.
I know we played wrong on a few things; this was only a training exercise…

Attack Bike 1 advances and shoots the Chimera with vet squad inside, exploding it and killing 5 vets and a ratling sniper. The Vet squad routes off the board. The las-cannon tactical squad fires and stuns the Colossus. Attack bike 2 Turbo-busts 18” down the center. All other squads Jump forward 12 and then run in the shooting phase.
Bottom of 1:
Straken with squad moves forward and kills attack bike 1. The Command squad and 10 man platoon execute 1st rank, 2nd rank and shoot attack bike 2 but can’t get a wound thru. The 20 man Platoon shoots and kills 2 marines from the Power Fist Assault squad. Both Mortar squads and the Ratling snipers all shoot at the Power Weapon/Melta Bomb Assault squad and only kill one marine and failing to pin them. Rus tank 1 shoots and kills 4 of the Death Company. Rus tank 2 shoots at the Vet squad only killing 1.

My dreadnaught comes in from reserves and I stick his landing, primary target was Rus1, secondary was the 20man squad. In hind sight I should have “shot” at the Colossus with the flamer and melta gun, still hitting the squad in front of the tank.
Tactical Squad shoots the Colossus, Colossus makes a cover save. Attack Bike 2 shoots Rus1 and destroys the Dem Cannon. Vet Squad moves up and explodes Rus2. With Rus1 slightly neutered, Dread shoots at the 20man Squad killing 7 and they route off the board.
PF Squad jumps forward and charges Straken thru a window.
PW/
MB Squad jumps forward and loses a Plasma pistol on the landing then dual charges Straken and Mortar 2 Lemartes and Death Company charge and slaughter the ratlings on the grassy knoll. Straken and the Mortars are also slaughtered.

Harker enters the game and kills 4 from
PW/
MB Squad. Rus1 kills AB2. Colossus detonates 4 Vets. Mortar1 shoots
PF Squad but deviates on self, killing a marine and wounding self; both squads are pinned. 10man Squad 1st rank, 2nd rank shots at Lem and D-Co, failing to kill them. Command Squad also does 1st rank, 2nd rank and shots at Dread and fails to pen.

PW/
MB Squad advances; they and
Tac Squad both shoot at Colossus to no effect. Dread advances and flam/melta Command Squad, killing 2 causing them to route. Lem/D-Co prepare for a furious charge while Vet and
PW squads advance and run.
Top of 3 Charges:
Lem/D-Co Stun Rus1.
PW/
MB duel charge the Colossus and Mortar1 slaughtering the mortars and failing to effect the Colossus.
Bottom of 3:
Marbol pops out from under a rock and tosses a demo charge on
Tac Squad killing 2. Harker jumps out of his Chimera and shoots/flames
PF Squad, killing all but 3 making them fall back. Harker’s Chimera and the Colossus shoot at
PW Squad killing 4 and failing to pin them. 10man Squad shoots at Dread to no effect. Rus1 scoots Lem/D-Co out of the way as it drives by. Command Squad keeps falling back.
Bottom of 3 Charges:
Harker assaults my falling back
PF squad, we each kill 1 and it is a draw.
Top of 4:
Tac Squad chooses to ignore Marbol , they shoot and immobilize the Chimera.
PW/
MB Squad moves into position so it may charge 10man Squad. Dread “shoots” it’s flamer and melta at the Colossus, exploding it. The Command Squad was also covered by the flame template and slaughtered. The exploding Colossus kills one of my
PW/
MB marines and they fall back. Vet Squad advances on Rus1. Lem/D-Co and
PW squads advance, Lem/D-Co will also run.
Top of 4 Charges:
Vets charge and fail to pen Rus1.
PW Squad charges in helping
PF Squad to slaughter Harken and his friends.

Walkers and the Devil Dog reinforce the Guardsmen. Walkers and Chimera kill 3 marines form
PW squad. Marbol advances and shoots but fails to wound. 10man Squad shoot at Lem/D-Co and fail to kill. Rus1 and Devil Dog kill 3 Vets, Routing them.
Bottom of 4 Charges:
Marbol charges the
Tac Squad and gets himself slaughtered for his effort.
Tac Squad gets a 6” consolidate allowing them to get back into positions as if nothing happened.
Top of 5:
Tac Squad shoots the Devil Dog and misses. Dread advances toward the Chimera and destroys its main gun.
PW,
PF and
PW/
MB Squads shoot at the Walkers, Killing 1. Lem/D-Co jump into charging position; the Vets make a tactical withdrawal.
Top of 5 Charges:
PW and
PF squads charge the chickens; one KIA and one destroyed weapon make it a push. Incidentally, Lem/D-Co slaughters the 10man Squad
Bottom of the 5:
Rus1 pops the last D-Co while the Devil Dog shoots at the Drop Pod and deviates off. The Chicken fails to wound and gets immobilized for its efforts. Guard Commander rolls and the game will go on.
Top of 6:
Tac Squad shoots and the Devil Dog and fails to pen. Vets and
PW/
MB Squads are still falling back. Dread explodes the Chimera. The
PW and
PF Squads have Chicken for lunch. It’s not looking good for the Rebel Guard…

The only thing of note is another Vet is flamed.
The game ends via the die roll, Blood Angel Victory.
