I've seen a few of your threads around, so I get the "looting" thing.

Loyalist Marines would never* use looted weapons. They might pick up an enemy's weapon in the heat of combat, but they wouldn't carry them around for future use. Plus, they'd have a hell of a hard time securing the appropriate ammo. But, it's a theme, it's cool, your marines, do what you'd like...

...but don't use Tyranid weapons. Nid weapons are actual biological organisms that are fused with the creatures that fire them. You can't really loot a Nid gun because it dies with the Nid it was carried by.

Also, on a side note, one thread. You've got what, five? Make one thread, post it in the P&M Blogs section, and update it there. You'll get FAR more responses from people if they don't have to look seventeen different places.

Yeah Tyrannid weapons *never* look good on anything except Tyrannids. It's a good paintjob but the looted weapons should be changed.

Decent paint jobs, but like the others say the Xenos weapons look out of place and really ruin the army.

Maybe you missed the last part...

Unfortunately it didn't take long for the rest of the Imperium to discover their use of Chaos weaponry in warfare. A cell of Inquisitors, four Chapter Masters and an Emperor Class Battleship descended on the Relictors Fortress Monastery and they were forced to hand over all relics...Continued conflict with the Inquisition during the 13th Black Crusade resulted in them being declared Excommunicate Traitoris[u] and were all but destroyed by the Grey Knights under the command of Inquisitor Cyarro.

The Relictors used CHAOS "artifacts", which is what led to them being destroyed. Also, the line troops didn't use them, it was the Chapter's command structure - captains, librarians, etc.

But once again, your models, do what you'd like.

One of the great things about the background that GW have created for their game is that, really, anything goes.

I would agree that most Marine Chapters would never use Xenos weapons, due to their ingrained xenophobia. But given the ways that established chapters often shy away from the norm, it's not impossible for a Chapter to either stray from established doctrine or to have some ideals of their own that justify it (maybe in the traditions of the Chapter's home world, using an enemy's own weapons against them is some particularly grave insult to them, or stops their spirit from finding rest, or some such nasty and unfriendly idea)

Plus, they'd have a hell of a hard time securing the appropriate ammo.

Not really. If you need Xenos ammunition, you just need to kill more Xenos. Which works out just fine, in the end

...unless some slightly heretical Apothecary has come up with a way of severing the connection and removing bio-weapons from captured Tyranid constructs, and keeping them alive after separation.

There's nothing wrong with posting separate threads if he's just showing the finished units. Particularly if he's likely to be a while between updates.

As for the actual squad... it's a simple colour scheme, but striking enough. I don't know if it was what you were going for, but the red skulls have a certain 'daubed with blood' thing going on, which works well for me.

I think the Sergeant's axe is a tad large, though. While 40K is all about over-sized weapons, there is a certain point where it starts just looking a little odd.

I agree with insaniack, why are you guys bashing nevets conversions? I think the idea is not only a breath of fresh air, but also a pretty cool conversion as well. Nice job man, and dont worry about these grumpy guys that hate anything non Imperial on SM

I'm totally for out of the norm marines, so I'm not downing your uniqiue flavor. My only qualm with the xenos weapons is that I think it my work better if you went with tau or eldar weapons. the reason I say that is your using higher grade technology rather than lower. now on the other hand, if you went with a chapter that used tyranid style bio weapons verses conventional weapons. Something like a far more radical version of black dragons chapter, that would be sweet.

The whole world's a stage, you're either an actor or a prop; it's up to you which one.

I just love when people get all offended how OTHER people's toys look. If you have the time and money to invest into a few models, you get to do whatever you want with them. From looking at nevet's squad, they are not tourney models, they are for FUN!!! There is no room for fun in the 41st mil. just war. Keep up the interesting work, and ignore the fun police.
