I was wondering about the legality of using fw models in a GW sponsered tournament
particularly FW nurgle daemon
And how do people feel about me using renegade ogryns as daemon princes

As long as you make it specifically clear to your opponent that the Ogryns are daemon princes (and you make them look like such) you won't usually have many problems. Remember, they have to be on the right base sizes, though. Otherwise there is no problem using Forge World models ion a GW tournament as Forge World is owned by Games Workshop and are therefore, GW licensed products.

FW models are usually not a problem at GW-sponsored events, but you need to check the individual event's Rules.

Personally, I'd consider a renegade Ogryn a reasonable counts-as daemon prince, so long as he's on a daemon prince-sized base (40mm?) and looks like he has the equipment/armour etc that the army list shows.

I dont think they are on 40mm thats Terminator bases. I think they are on a Dred base (at least thats how Ive seen them)
But I also agree on using them. It should be totally fine. The only real problem you run into when using FW things, is the rules they make up for them. Alot of the rules from FW are either horrible, or overpowered. But using a FW demon as a GW rule set is totally legal. Same with the Ogryn, as long as the base is proper and you tell everyone that its a DP youll have no problems what so ever

Actually, I believe it has more become a custom to put DP's on 60mm bases, than an actual set-in-stone official size. The actual DP model comes with a 40mm base, but it looks terribly crowded on such a tiny base. However, if I'm not mistaken, the Nurgle DP is packaged with a 60mm base. Since GW rules say "You must use the bases that are provided with the miniature" and since both represent two variations of the same in-game model, I suppose both base sizes are acceptable. However, the 60mm is usually the most commonly seen and accepted, since more DP's are seen with them.
