Some of you may remember Edward Woodward of The Equalizer and The Wicker Man fame. He passed away today aged 79.

I had the pleasure of meeting him once in a pub on the River Fal, in Cornwall. He was a charming bloke and verymuch an old school gent.

Ahh, he was sound. he was always good even if what he was in was terrible.
And the (original) Wicker Man is still a crackin' film.

Edward Woodward also played Agent Callan, several of whose cases involved elaborate tabletop wargames.
And he hosted a TV series about wargames.

As they mention in Harry Pearson's excellent "Achtung Scweinehund", a book all wargamers, especially UK ones should read.

Hehe, I like the look of that one.
Methinks I'll need to dig me up a copy.
Oh and on topic, aye great actor, hope he rests in peace. I'll always remember the Equaliser when I was a bit younger, Wicker man was also a great film, as where a few others I've seen him in, but he was also in B5, so added respect from me.
