Gnawing Giant Rat

Hey guys, this is my first real post, just finished up an old rat ogre model. I like the rat ogre models from this range better than the new ones personally. Let me know what you think and what could be improved. Overall I'm really happy with it, though I'm not sure how well the verdigris effect can be made out in these pics. Took some time to finish and alot of experimenting to get the effect I wanted on the base, which could still use some work.
Enjoy!

Awesome model!
I'm not sure what "verdigris" means, though
I do have one suggestion, but it's not about your paint job (which looks excellent!). There's a lot of shadows in the picture, if you could have another light source coming from the other side (and maybe you do, but you might need another) it would be easier to see all you've done with it

very nicely done.
I see an effect on the blades, but isn't verdigris supposed to be greenish/bluish?

First off, I love that old model.
You did a good job with painting it. Better lighting would, I suspect, even make that statment more true. My criticism comes at the baseing. It's FAR to odrered and neat to be natural-looking. Unless on major league sports fields, you will not likely see such perfectly shaped patches of grass or perfectly straight stripes of perfectly seperated colors.
Humans are that ADHD, nature is not.

Thanks for the compliments, and yeah verdigris is the green gunk that builds up on brass/ copper metals, and the pictures kinda loose the detail of it except on the tail a bit. As for the blade its just rusted. I will have to work on the base a bit I think since a few of my friends have commented about the strip of grass as well. I think if I just extrude it a bit it should be alright. And the final matter addressed, yeah my lighting in here is horrible, its a miracle I can even paint under it! I'll try and grab some more pictures tomorrow if I need to find a spotlight to do it with.

Hey guys I'm a little later than expected but I've been extremely busy painting the new Queek model. Turned out great I'll post pictures soon. In the meantime here's the better pics of the rat ogre (turns out someone was fiddling with my camera and I didn't notice the old pics are in email attachment compression not 1080 HD). I fixed up the grass line as some suggested as well!
