The Combat Squad can't have a Meltagun either, only squads of 10 get anything other than bolters. What'll the scheme be?

Yeah, I know, I was just showing you what the list was going to be like
The theme's going to be this:
Main-silver
Secondary-blue
I'm still new to 40000, so this is my new army. And my camera isn't working, so no pictures sorry
This is also my first dakkadakka forum too...

Yes they can. They may not however take a heavy weapon, as that is restricted to squads of 10. You can always take special weapons.
OT: Looks nice, a test figure or something would be nice

Hi,
Because of my camera, I'm not going to put any posts on this for a couple of weeks. Should I delete this forum, but when i have pictures, start a new one, or should I keep this one and just write about what I'm doing, then put pictures on later???

Well guy we can't say much if we have no pics
About the scheme, are you sure about the Silver? I find Silver on Marines not that goodlooking, especially not the Mithrli Silver or stuff version, if you do it nmm it'd be another thing but maybe think about dark grey instead of silver? It's much easier to highlight and therefore may look much better, but I don't know anything about your painting skills so just do whatever you like!

I'm new to 40,000, but have painted other miniatures for about 3 years, so I could do NMM. But doing it on an army would take AGES, and I probably would give up halfway through! I also get what you mean about the silver, so I've changed the colors to blue and white. It's exactly the same as crimson fists, but changing the red for white. Thanks for the comment though, even though there's no pictures!

i think the silver can look really good on marines
as long as you make them nice and filthy
lots of ink, dirt, weathering, rust, scuffing, damage, decals ... the works
they will look awesome if you put the effort in
people always rag on the metallic paints but thats because most people just wash it once and leave it
think about it, even a rookie space marine is about 100 years old or so
his armor would not be all shinny with a fresh coat of chain mail silver

I don't dislike metallics at all, I just don't like them that much on marines, just personal taste though. Of course metalls can look really good too!

yeah, ever since it came out, I've been using devlan mud. The forge world weathering powders look good too, but the silver didn't look right for a whole army I could always make sergeants, captains and vehicles silver...

Yup, but I think, colors have more intention, than silver, it looks just more impressive and better I feel...

I've tried some other colors, and green and white works well! Using gloss varnish on areas like the inside of shoulder pads makes non metallic colors look great. even ones that aren't NMM silver or gold.
