basically workign on a second founding Wolves army (i know there was only meant to be one buyt maybe their records got lost)

anyway, the first 3 grey hunters (mostly finised one is waiting on his studed pad)

Plan is to have all greyhunters and all heroes bar 1 based on chaos warriro legs and in many cases torsos as well, those usign Marine torso will all hav ea cloak of some description from somewhere probs the space wolf frame /3rd ed acccesory sprue you can still get off GW site.

and the first complete Bloodclaw
most (although not all) will have bare limbs or/and heads

Now i jsut need to come up with a colour scheme for these Sons of Russ and chapter name, thinking of going with the Iron Wolves or somthing. Also pls not in the pictures ther eis still some tocuhing up filing/blade work to go and all pictures were taken on my phone at 10 to midnight

Any suggestions for colour scheme, Name or what i shoudl fix about the Models, GIVE IT TO ME!

The Imperium of Man is able to traverse the Warp with difficulty when their Emperor concentrates from his golden life support machine and lights the way. Unfortunately, because the Emperor has the attention span of the average 5-year-old Pokemon fanboy, this means that many an unfortunate Imperial ship has had the WTF WHERE'D THE LIGHTS GO experience, which in the Warp is invariably fatal.

I can easily tell you what you should change on the models: Not a single thing! They look GREAT!

Whereas the name of the chapter: As you've emphasised the norse aspect of the Wolves, maybe you should look up some norse names?

I can help you a bit: Vargr and Ulfr both mean "wolf", with vargr also meaning "bandit" and the combination mordvargr being "outlaw killer" (literally "killer wolf"). Einherjar: warriors who have died in battle and come to Valhalla, scheduled to fight at Odins side in the end times. Jotun: The "subterrainian", norse devils. Vanir: The other tribe of "good" gods, besides the Aesir. The Vanir hail from Vanaheim, the Aesir from Asgard. Veidn: Hunt

Bear in mind that this is not contemporary scandinavian, not even in Iceland, but forgotten Viking stuff.

Very nice work so far, I like the idea behind the army. As for paint scheme, maybe go with the original dark grey armor the Wolves had, with red or black trim? Or go completely different and paint the armor a dark red color with grey trim, that would look good IMHO.

That's a really interesting concept of using a chaos warriors body. I may try this as a pre-heresy army.

after some talk with afriend i settled ona colour scheme whcih has actually been suggested by Thanatos, the Dark grey and Red, i will probablly do a test scheme in the next couple of days.

For the chapter name i've gone with Hrofwulfen, (or Sky Wolves in old English)

Very interesting idea to do a pre-heresy SM army using chaos warrior legs. I like it thanks for the idea. And great job with the figs.

Eastern Frontier Exploratores
224th Astra Legion (main army)
628th Praetorian Guard Cohort (wife's army)
827th Auxilia Cohort (ad mech fun)
825th Foderati Cohort (in the beginning army)
1212th Foederati Cohort - Jokaero (cause I like apes with guns)

Those are looking really nice so far. Its pretty cool how well those WFB Chaos bits mix with the SM stuff. I think that if I ever want to make a SM chapter of my own thinking, thats the road Ill go down.

its not as simple as you think, well ok it is, but i think it would be easier with non Space wolf torsos, i've had to do lots of filing on the legs because of all the extras that are on the Space wolf Torsos (for some reason the space wolve's love Crotch ornaments). I didn't bother with the overly adorned torsos on the first couple of models, the first where it became an issue was the Wolfguard, i can throw pics up of them but they are from finished

EDIT: Now with Real English

Very good chapter name! And I really dig the Blood Claw, he has a great pose.
