Hey guys Im thinking of starting a Slaneesh army but I cant think of a colour scheme, and I dont want the usual pink and black or purple and black. I want something different to everyone elses Slaneesh army. I would appreciate any comments.

Just think of decadence, sound or whichever theme you'd like to emphasize more. Decadence could just as easily be expressed by sumptuous golds and royal blues (though traditionally Tzeentchy, with good planning and painting it could look Slaaneshi), sound could be black or a soft color with various bright neon colors as highlights or lust could be red and purple with a touch of pink. Just think what you want to evoke when people look at it and we can help more from there

I agree Cannerus, golds would be nice. I would paint them in a rich pick on the power armor with details and trimming in
shining golds and silver. Wouldn't get more decadent than that

Pride and beauty can be anything. For awhile I really wanted to do a more "angelic" looking slaneesh force focused around red, white, gold. If yer doing fantasy and you get the right models, it might work.

I went pink and neon green. Very bright and eye-catching, but also look pretty good in an 80's sort of way.

My Slannesh marines have been repainted Elf flesh and warlock purple. It looks very Slanneshi.

Flesh color isn't used as often as it should for us imo.

They do have pink eyes though!

I've seen pale rich yellows and silver work well, with a touch of gold for script and freehandy stuff on the yellow. But yellow can be a pain to paint.

I painted a deamonette for fun.

I used deneb stone for the skin, washed with leviathen purples and rehighlight with deneb stone adding whit to the stone for extra highlights. i was going for an alibaster feel.
Red Cloth mechrite red, washed with devlun mud, highlighted with mechrite red then 1:1 mechrite and blood red
blue hair Enchanted blue, a couple of washes in ashurmen blue to darken it then drybrush enchanted followed by ice blue to highlight
i painted claw and spines in bleached bone (may take a few layers to get a good coat) washed in baal red, then highlighted in bleached bone.
the deamonette had green eyes.
P.S. I undercoated in black

I like the finished look. it was an experiment with the new paints that had been realeased.

I just painted this Chaos Space Marine as a test for a Slaanesh army I may or may not build. I choose a gray and purple quadrant pattern, with gold trim. I'm fairly happy with the results.



Sorry about the poor quality - I took the picture from my phone because I did not have my real camera anywhere nearby. I primed gray, then used codex gray and liche purple for the basic quadrant pattern. I put a base coat of bestial brown on all the gold parts, and then followed up with a few thin layers of shining gold. I used boltgun metal for the backpack and bolter. After that, I gave the whole mini a badab black wash and then highlighted the gray parts with skull white and the purple parts with warlock purple. I haven't highlighted the gold yet, though I should really do that at some point.

EDIT: PS - I know there are some mold lines in there. I have no intention of using this mini in an actual army - it was more to just test the idea I had, so I didn't care enough to remove them

I have never painted a chaos army.... but I would love to eventually paint a small Slaneesh army, i've been thinking about how to paint it for a long time, I like the white and pink idea though. I was going to go with a white and purple.

yes i agree that flesh is very under used and gold would work nice as well, i would still work in some pink or purple but that is at ur discretion, basically just think a sexy, decadent crustacian and you got slaanesh, beautiful yet horrifying, elegant, yet grotesque. "naw wat I'm sayin'?" --- "yes I believe I know what you are saying"-Butters lol
