Awesome idea, I wish I knew how to use programs like this.
The only problem i see is with the legs. The very wide hips with small waist joint on a dreadnought don't really accommodate human legs. Have you thought of a way around this?

I have already thought of that since the dreads hips are so much wider than a humans but as we remember they have hydrolic lines that go from the cod to the legs i will be hiding my legs in those

This is going to be epic. I've seen plenty of Space Marine costumes, but never a Dreadnought.
Are you going to be using the Color scheme in the pic? What chapter will it be from?

I am actually asking for color scheme and examples of what you would like to see for it so post your dreadnoughts on here for me if you have an army scheme you would like to see and ill choose one of them Automatically Appended Next Post: Also a key detail i forgot to post is this costume is going to be a 1/1 scale dreadnought
Automatically Appended Next Post: the scale of it the halo one render is my exact high (6ft)

A couple of questions:
1. Is this gonna be "true scale dreadnought"?
2. Will you have lighting and speaker built in to the sarcophagus? Having a glow from inside and your voice augmented/digitized would rock...
3. Be sure to have a back banner for added visual "pop"
Also i vote for Ultramarines just so people will have to say nice things about Ultramarines or be pissed that it is so cool but Ultramarine at the same time...
I will be watching this thread with interest.

do you really have to ask this? I mean that thing would be huge and require animatronics to move it if it was truescale, but I like your thinking.

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House! |

Oh i am going to pull this off ive been planning this for a few months and only just recently figured out how to get a human to fit inside it and be able to move if there are those of you who would like to see detailed pictures of the building process when it is started let me know and i will give you personal updates

A 12-foot-high costume will weigh heaps (unless it's made of horrible flimsy cardboard) - and will be really top heavy, one wind gust and you'll topple over. A roughly half-scale model would be a lot more practical (but still a mammoth project).

We ALL (BOLD!!!!) want to see real pictures of the progress. Im incredibly curious how you plan to make something that large, able to move by the person inside. Even if you made it with paper mache (sp?) I dont see how you could really lift it being that large. So go fer it, I want to see it happen to be honest lol

See im better with fiberglass then most because ive worked with it so much and the way i fiberglass it will be extremely light weight and when i make a costume it is for accuracy and detail not just something that is close to it
so i am going to be going full size and full detail the suit will be a fully assembled costume meaning there will be joints instead of open pockes for limbs to fit through like typical armor this will allow me to have more control and balance over the suit
inside the main dread torso there will be another torso armor symilar to what the space marine torso is that will be conected o the outer hull of the suit this will allow the torso to be fully straaped to mine and supported allowing me to have more control over it instead of its just sitting over me like i also said in one of the other posts on here i am also using the hydroclic cylinders used on cars to hold up the rear hatch of the car or in some cases the hood of the car
i have already aqquired 20 of them ranging in size these will be place in a way that helps me hold up the weight and this will allow me to move more easily and not just be ecentually a statue also the suit will have an internal air circulation system and my halo one armor had and also so you know the dread will weight about 100 or so pounds when made myt first armor i didnt know wat i was really doing and it weight over 160 pouns but i am able to wer it for over 7 hours without a problem and i can run jump fight and sit in it this dreadnought suit will not be a HAVE @#$ attempt and will be better than some think is possible
and one last thing never underestimate what can be done the second you put a limit on it you have made it imppossible so i ask that you take that into consideration before you make a post saying its not possible to do

Wait what? 1/1 scale? That should be like just over twice the hight of an SM, SM are about 7/8 foot tall...
A dred would be like 16/18 foot tall!

One problem I can see is that in that picture, the dreadnoughts are halfway through a step, ad so are shorter than they would actually be.

Six mistakes mankind keeps making century after century: Believing that personal gain is made by crushing others; Worrying about things that cannot be changed or corrected; Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it; Refusing to set aside trivial preferences; Neglecting development and refinement of the mind; Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do |

Awesome idea and I, too, am interested in how you're dealing with the legs.
Another concern, though, is falling over. Not just getting back up, but faceplanting from the inside just seems to be a whole lot of ouch.

When i start posting pictures of the actual thing you see the inner torso inside the main hull wouldnt let your face actually hit the outer hull because the inner torso which you are straped to wwill not let you move in that way on the inside you lean forward the whole thing would
