I'm a cheap bastard at times and I get along well with magnets. I've wanted a griffon/medusa/chimera/devil dog for a while now so I figuered why not challenge myself and make them all in one. It's not perfect and it still need a few final touches and of course a paint job.

This has nothing to do with the chimera project but I'm almost done painting these two recent vet models and I'm really diggin how they're coming along.

I like it looks great and its always a good idea to magnetise and have options of weopen or in your case even different tanks. Keep it up!

Great work on the tank. Might have to try and do something similar when i get my chineras. Its a brillant idea.

And nice work on the vets. What parts is that backpack made out of? i think i can see some SM and IG parts used...

On the left guy it's the really old storm trooper one. Wish I had more, it's a very rare bit. The dude on the left has a krieg backpack.

Buy a house. Suddenly $50 for a tank seems quite reasonable

Great job on the tanks!

doh, yeah the second left is a right lol

I sure hope gw has some nostalgia left in them and somehow includes them on the sprues with the new vets/stormtroopers but I think it's a longshot.

2 old school russ hatches, one of those plastic pieces on the chimera sprue that used to be for the griffon, cut in half of course (to make both sides). On top I used a leftover targeter thing from the valk kit and some pieces cut from the sides of a basilisk gunshield. Underneath the gun itself is a land raider/ rhino door, under that is 2 of "ammo box" things from the old russ kit. The main gun piece itself is the demolisher from the baneblade I think (not sure).

It's a little convoluted but it really will help my wallet. I intend on doing this from now on, because I can use the chasis to make griffons, hydras, medusas and possibly even basilisks. Still not 100% done but getting there. Gotta add some finishing touches and paint the griffon part.
