Chosen Men, are you? Well, I didn't choose you.
It's very hard to trust a man who wants to borrow your pick-lock, sir.

He looks soooooo far away.

Seriously, though, from what I can see you're doing fine. Might thin your paint some as its a tiny bit globby.

Clicky images for zoom. Will try and change camera settings as in reality all the paint was really watered down and not at all thick.

I did zoom. That;s how I saw the globby paint. But it's just a base coat. It'll look better once you get some more paint on, I reckon.

You forgott to undercoat it first and when paintg red you will always have to put on a cupple of layers to get it right.

Blood Red + Baal Red wash will give a brighter, but still "combat looking" sheen.

It looks pretty good.

I especially like the crisp clean Bleached Bone, I can never get that...

QFT. Prime it black, base coat it mechrite red, wash it with devlan mud, and highlight it blood red. Thats an easy way to do red that doesnt look terrible.

Make sure you basecoat your model first. Priming the model gives it more "tooth" for the paint to stick to. I'll echo the poster above me and suggest a black undercoat followed by Mechrite Red. I've never tried a Devlan Mud wash over it before, but given how Mud looks over my other reds that sounds like it could look good.
