Began with the newly added LoD squad i got yesterday and all was fine until I couldn't get myself to like GW's choice of weapons..

So in general, its:

BoX
- a sgt with ccw/power wep and plasma pistol
- a trooper with flamer
- 3x troopers with bolters

Blisters
- a seperate tropper with heavy flamer
- a seperate trooper with multimelta
- 2x2 troopers with bolters

Now I've missed the melta and plasma-cannon option in this out-of-the-box/blister package.

Solution:
The first idea was to use a chappy as newly recruted melta trooper.
Easy conversion, cut off crozius, replace with ccw and cut off plasma pistol, replace with meltagun.

Second idea was to use the multimelta trooper as plasma cannon trooper.
Adding the plastic plasma-cannon instead of the MM was the easy part.
But how to represent the different backpack?

Could either keep the original with small tanks or try to fit the big plastic-plasma Backpack of the dev sprue.

So which is it?

Stay with the smaller packs ( 2 small tanks, same with heavy flamer or multimelta )?
Or fit the plastic backpack on?

Help most appreciated.

beef him up with the plastic one, then you will have a spare legion of the damned backpack you can stick on a chaplain model or something

Oklahoma City, Ok.

i'd say use the plastic Devistator plasma backpack.

Use the devastator backpack and Skullify it, maybe?

Could get the heavy trooper a bit bulkier than the other troopers.
Will see how it fits with those sculpted shoulderpads.

I think a regular plastic backpack would be good and proper.
